help with seeds and plant

hey i have gotten some seeds from a friend, he said they were around 2 years old, from all the kinds of weed he has bought. they are around a yellowish brown almost a light tan or khakie, i was wondering if they are any good, some are almost a dark browns and not sure which ones i should germinate or if i should go ahead and just plant them idk, also i have a couple seeds i planted about a week and a half ago outside to see how they would grow outside, then i went to go check on it and one was about 6 inch's tall but the stem was brown and nothing on it until the top and there was about 6 leafs up on it i drew a pic on paint and i'll put it on here. so i put it in a room with abunch of cfl with standing up lamps can someone tell me whats wrong with it. and also dont forget about the seed part thanx

lol... its kinda hard to tell by that pic.. Im kinda suprised two year old seeds sprouted at all... Keep those cfl's close as possible and you'll see a diference...

always inspect your seeds to make sure there are no cracked seeds before planting them... My best experiance with seeds is the darker seeds as the light colored ones are usually cracked and or do not grow...
