help with seedlings!!

So i put my cracked seeds in my seedling medium, which is a brown sponge material with no memory. I was concerned about the open hole at the top so i tore off little pieces from one of the other sponges to use as a plug. the problem is they are pushing the plugs out. so the seeds with the tap roots are now exposed on some of them. what should i do? can the seed be exposed as long as the root is covered? where does the leaf part come out?

the leaf comes out the opposit side of the tap root.

so if the seed is exposed it will be ok?
or do i need to get a little rough with it and poke it down?

even more are pushing through... can anybody else help me out?

Im rather new to this .. i think the best thing to do is plant it into A.) A bigger seedling medieumn or B.) a pot with seedling starter mix .. sorry i tried my best
