help with picking seeds

this winter i plan on buying some seeds and have no clue who a good one to go with. all my seeds up to now are from local. if i could avoid the border the would be best im in canada. i like heavy hitters and strains that will last a long time, a big yielder would be cool but im more on the quality. i would like something stony as well as a strain for the day that would let me function. i like ultra pink kush but have no clue where to get it from it would be nice if they are not $125+ CAD. im at the point with my trust in my self on growing that i see spending money on seeds would be a good option now that i wont just kill them or waste the seeds. would love to find some exzotics as well like nova og GG or some sinmint cookies looking for the best you can buy and work with thats not crazy expensive as i see some that are like $400 for 5 seeds. the genetics i have now are ok but i know there is so much that is way better. i just want something i will be happy with and i can learn with. as of now i know i dont want to smoke the government weed as i can grow better stuff than what i have smoked from my LPs

There's lots of Canadian seed banks to chose from. You're going to pay a lot more for some of the latest and greatest strains especially if they are fem seeds but I always look for regular seeds so I can breed more of the same. I did just buy some fem AK47 from a buddy at $20 each for 3 of them from Canuck Seeds. He gave me about 20 that are (NLxPurple Indica) x Bubble Gum which should be interesting. He also gave me 7 plants that were freezing in his greenhouse that came with free mites, thrips and some aphids so I think I may toss all but the Critical Kush and ChemDog.

I'm getting more into hi-CBD plants as that seems to work best for me when made into cocobudder. I have 3 plants going for about 6 months now and need to do something with them soon.

On a recent trip to Kelowna I picked up some Original Skunk, Afghani and BlueBerry from Crop King $40 for each 5 pack and a 10 pack of Green Spirit from Jordan of the Islands. $80 for 10 regular.

Breeding your own seeds is easy so by just a couple each of a few strains and do some pollen chucking and never buy seeds again. Before these recent purchases I'd only ever bought 1 pack of Early Wonder Skunk 13 years ago from the Vancouver Seed bank and they mostly went hermie. They replaced them with some LowRyder1 as I was into breeding my own auto crosses back then but screw autos now. :)

Trading with friends was my source of beans in the past and have way more beans than I will ever use so send off packs to forum buddies from time to time. Just sent 65 to a guy in Michigan for my first ever send across the border and he's growing some now and posting pics on another forum. Another guy in the Maritimes will be getting the Afghani as I've decided I don't really want to grow those out.

ya i was looking at cropkings as they are in my city but i hear so much bad about them i never gave them a try. i wish i had some local people to trade with the few i do know have strains that im not a fan of so i dont grow them any more. funny thing is just today a few hours a go i did find out one of my buddys has so strains that im looking to get but i have to wait until he gets back in town. hoping i can get some strawberry banana, and i think he was saying it was grape violator kush i was sold when i heard violator. im usually the guy everyone comes for seeds as i always have random unknowns but they are ones that have fail my quality tests. but it looks like i found my seed link today as he has a few i know i want and some i want to try but cant remember the strains

ya thats what im looking at trying i have this one that i was i could breed but i cant get it to clone no matter what i try but her sister the pheno i dont want clones like nothing.
i dont mind buying seeds its just i dont like not knowing if its something i would like or who are good breeders
the person that was teaching me and i was learning from most my life past away and her kids trashed her whole seed collection knowing she told them that they were to go to me and a few other people to keep the lines alive

have you tried Sharks Breath, Silver Lemon Haze, Strawberry Banana, Lemon Violator ,Walter White, Sky walker ,Girl Scout Cookies, Platinum Girl Scout Cookies, Blue Guava. out of this what would you say would be the best this is what i found out today i can get from my buddy. so far im thinking Platinum Girl Scout Cookies,Strawberry Banana and Lemon Violator

Haven't grown any of those but have smoked the Walter White from a dispensary in Kelowna a year ago. Really good for quick depression relief but no effect on my arthritis. Got some GSC at a dispensary in Aldergrove too and it was OK but meh. My fave was Sweet Skunk CBD and I bought 10g of that to bring home and make cocobudder with. Best month I've had in ages. :)

It's hard to advise anyone on what might be the best to grow. I depends a lot on their goals. My goal is to grow good medicine that will work well with what ails me and some of the many people I know with similar and different issues. Most of the 2 or 3 dozen strains and hundreds of plants I've grown in the last 16 years just haven't done it as good as CBD strains I've tried, 3, so to that end I'll be growing out the ones I have along with some good stoner pot for those guys, and me too sometimes.

ya thats what i was thinking its different for everyone. lol and thats exactly why i want something that's got a good amount of thc so i can try to start mixing in some cbd to it as well as have something i can relax sit back and enjoy a nice smoke with. the thing that makes it hard is some dispensaries have one strain thats so good then then next place has the same strain and its trash so finding ones is hard. and i have super bad luck when i do find something i like something happens so i cant get it. i had a line from my best friend to get some ultra pink kush. the guy that owned the dispensary broke up with his GF and she bleached all the plants so he lost the pink kush and his whole line of seeds and plants and she bleached and throw the seeds she did not crush in the trash as well as crushed up as much as she could

More grows get busted or trashed from a failed relationship than almost all other reasons combined I bet. My wife doesn't really approve of my growing but she knows I'm not just some stoner or greedy dealer looking to profit from others pain but need my medicine so I don't have to resort to mind destroying pharma meds to keep me from eating my shotgun some day when I'm really deep in the dark places. She's actually a bit pissed off that I don't try to make more money off my "hobby" but tho I have enough gear and plenty of room I always falter when it comes to setting up a larger grow with profit as a goal. I have a few friends that are interested in using very hi-CBD pot in edible form so once I can supply the pot I'll be making lots of cocobudder. Still not going to be lots of money but enough to keep the lights on as it always has.

She helps in the grow room when I'm away and this weekend I'll help her dispatch and skin 6 roosters. Her "hobby" that pays way less than mine but cost as much or more to equip and operate. :)
