Help with new glass peice...

Ok so I got a new glass piece as a gift, but I'm not sure how to use it correctly. Those pics are of one identical to mine. First time I own something like this, I always just rollup. So I put water down the mouth piece, but how much? Do I fill it just to those ridges inside or well pass them? No water down the front right? Like where the..slide would go? So far I've filled it to half way up the ridges, and a lil over, both ways seem to work for me. Thanks for any help

So you have a showerhead perc like in that pic? fill it just above the slits and you should be good.

Mine looks just like the pic, just a different bowl. Ok so its a showerhead perc? Sweet, and just fill it pass the slits? ok got it. Thanks for the replys. Time to get lifted....can I buy some other pieces for it, like for dabs? I know its sad I don't know much, like I said I just roll up a J or L.
