Help with GH Nutes (Flowering)

Hey guys I have 4 blue cheese (fem) flowering in a bubbleponics system and they are about 10 days in...>Can anybody give me a good ratio of nutes per gallon? I'm using GH Flora series with GH Floralicious Bloom.....I followed the chart from Gh website and my ppms are only at like 500 which seems way too low since in transition my ppms were almost 700

Try running the Lucas Formula.

5ml micro / 10ml bloom per gallon - under flourecent

8ml micro / 16ml bloom per gallon - under strong HID

Ok and what about the floralicious bloom should I just not use that for now? Also, I'm using a 400w hps

What would my ppms be around with that? Or should I not worry about ppms?

Also can I start switching to this formula tomorrow when I add a gal to replace what they drink up....

Today I did a rez change and added 5 tsp Micro, 3 tsp Grow, 8 tsp Bloom, and 5 tsp Floralicious Bloom for 6 gallons of water PPMs are around 480 Which like I said before seems really low to me

For this formula you wont need the Floralicious Bloom. That is an organic bloom I cant recommend using it with the Lucas Formula.

The Lucas Formula at full strength is 1300-1400 ppm if i remember right.

Its a balanced ratio of everything a cannabis plant needs to mature / flower.

So Should i just drain the rez and start over with this formula or start mixing it in daily when I fill with a gal of nutrient solution

I started to read about the formula and don't understand the .5 or .7 conversion? I'm using a hanna primo ppm meter?

Doing it with the addback water should be ok.

How are your plants looking ?

Your PPM meter is a .5 conversion meter. That is why your numbers seem low.

Most numbers quoted on these forums are for a .7 conversion.

My plants look great...I have 4 total and 3 of them are well over 2 feet. They are around 5weeks old and have been flowering for 9days now..I have just been following instruction on the gh label and today when switching from transition to bloom the ppms were really low i was way higher in the transition....I'm just going to gradually switch them starting tomorrow to the lucas formula...I hope one day of this won't harm them at all...I appreciate your help i'm going to start a journal so if you want keep an eye out i'm sure i'll have more questions haha

So everyday I just top of with this formula per gallon and the plants will have everything they need?

You will still need to test the rez after you do the addback and make sure its in range for both PPM and PH

If the plants are eating alot of nutes you can add more micro and bloom.

But always add them in the 1:2 ratio

1 part micro to 2 parts bloom

This ratio provides all nutrient needs for cannabis. Then its just a matter of managing the PH.

Luckily I havn't had many issues keeping the ph in check....I use purified r/o water and once I add nutes I only need a few drops of ph up and it's right where I want it...Thanks again for you help man I really do appreciate it

If you are going to switch to Lucas you need to go full strength from the start.

With the Lucas Formula you use the ratio of 1 micro to 2 bloom at 1300 PPM from beginning to the end of the flowering stage.

You should not mess around. Empty your res and fill with fresh water then add 1 micro to 2 bloom until you are at 1300 PPM. Go pure lucas from here on out.

The PPM can drift between 1200 - 1400 PPM but you want to zero in on 1300 PPM when you top off your res.

Ive used Lucas for three crops now with stunning results.

I've been using it at full strength for the last 5 days since I switched over to it and so far so good! Do you change your rez weekly ? I do as of now but alot of people are telling me not to bother

I used the Lucas formula for years with really good results. Just wanted to make a small correction to the thread: 0-5-10 is used for vegging. 0-8-16 is used for flowering.

Actually 5-10 for vegging is WRONG.

Lucas himself said so, 5-10 is for Florescent lighting and 8-16 is for HID lighting.

Now maybe if you veg under flourescent then sure 5-10 would be used for vegging.

But see somebody has been spreading incorrect information.

Well that's interesting, Xare. I used 0-5-10 for vegging for years, starting with a 430 HPS, then upgrading to a 600 HPS. Just goes to show you what a versatile plant we are growing. :)

Was that a correction that Lucas made at a later date or something? The reason I'm asking is, I started growing, learning on the old CW site and Lucas used to post there a lot. Unless I missed it, he ... and others on CW said 0-5-10 for vegging. I never saw any posts regarding using 0-5-10 for low light situations.

Not arguing with you ... just interested in the Lucas formula changing because I recommend it to newbies all the time. Take care ...

My information is from posts by Lucas on the CW website in 2007

0-5-10 is for vegging under fluorescent lights.
strong MH or HPS light allows the plants to use 0-8-16
In reply to a question:

A question by somone using 0-5-10
> I have been letting the ph sit at 6.1 for a 4-6 days and then ph back down to 5.4 area.
> Lots of the older fan leafs are seriously rust spotted and they are contorted quite a bit.

Lucas:
Both these issues come from using 0-5-10, and letting it get weaker over time. You should NOT use 0-5-10 to veg, you Should use 0-8-16
And Lucas said here : http://www.cannabis-world.org/cw/showthread.php?p=11823&highlight=fluorescent#post11823

I Do Not Recommend using 0-5-10 for anything except fluorescent lights. For Blooming, and vegging under High Pressure Sodium, I recommend 0-8-16

whoever gave the impression that 0-5-10 is good for vegging.. was making life more complicated than necessary, and inviting Magnesium defficiency, which is helped by adding Cal Mag, or epsom salt

but I dont recommend Any Cal Mag or Epsom with 0-8-16

I disavow any knowledge of having ever recommended 0-5-10 for Anything but florescent lights.

I'm using an ebb and grow system and change my res every three weeks but that is just my personal preference.

Ive noticed that if I let it go too long (more than three weeks) I get nutrient deficiency problems.
