Help with FoxFarm soils

Hello,

I will start a nice little garden from 5 seeds of Next Generation Romulans in the next few weeks.
As time comes closer and closer to the start line I'm getting the right supplies, lights, soil, nutes, etc'.

Now is the soil part :)

I've been reading here (and everywhere else tbh) about FoxFarm's soil mixes.
After narrowing all the available products I came to these three:

Ocean Forest
The ultimate potting soil—everything your plants need, in one bag. Ocean Forest® is a powerhouse blend of premium earthworm castings, bat guano, and Pacific Northwest sea-going fish and crab meal. Composted forest humus, sandy loam, and sphagnum peat moss give Ocean Forest® its light, aerated texture. Start with Ocean Forest® and watch your plants come alive!
Happy Frog
Your potted plants deserve the best. Their roots can’t seek out nutrients in the ground, so you have to bring it to them. That’s why Happy Frog® Potting Soil is alive with beneficial microbes and fungi that help break down organic matter and feed the plant roots. Between the earthworm castings, the bat guano, and the composted forest humus, your container plants have never felt so good. And don’t worry—FoxFarm uses only the highest quality, premium ingredients—no cheap fillers, no topsoil, no sludge. Never. We promise.
Light-Warrior

Light Warrior® is the ultimate grow medium for seed starting and transplanting. And it isn’t just a grow medium—we pack it with beneficial microbes to stimulate root growth and enhance fertilizer uptake, humic acid to help in seed germination, and earthworm castings to help plants thrive. Light Warrior® is the perfect fast-draining, lightweight seed germinator for your indoor jungle.
I will be using the following:

 • Bio-Bizz Root Juice (*great deal look here)
 • Bio-Bizz Bio Heaven
 • Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom
 • Depending on how the garden goes I'll consider adding A.N's Bud Candy
 • of course - PH and PPM monitored water.
* my original plans were to use the entire line of BioBizz, but there is still an issue I do not understand.
until that is cleared - I'll go as if I'm using the FF nutes.

Now..
with all this in mind, on what FF soil mix will you recommend?
I'm starting from seeds.

I'll appreciate some good details and experience sharing from the vets, because I'm still a noob :dunce:bongsmilie
Much appreciated,
Asimon.

Ocean Forest is a wise choice. If you want faster dry/drain times cut the Ocean Forest with Light Warrior or I like to cut it with CocoGro (coconut coir)

Ocean Forest can be "hot" for seedlings so careful with germination. The food is already there for the first couple months so it makes things easy but eventually they will need to be fed.

As far as the ratios go use 60% Ocean Forest and 40% CocoGro if you want a faster draining soil. The faster soil drys the more often you can water/feed it.

Or you can substitute the CocoGro with the Light Warrior.

Welp, I think a very good base mix that you don't have to fertilize much for the first month is 1pt Ocean Forest, 1pt Happy Frog, 3pt Light Warrior. You want a good amount of the LW in there, as you want good drainage and it has a good micro-beastie population. Or you can do just the OF and LW in a 1:2 ratio, that works well too. It depends on how much you want to have to fertigate that first month of veg.

You will still want to give them some rooting hormones, and some B1, maybe some sea algea and a few light feedings. It just depends.

And I know I'm new here, but I have experience using the FF line. Hope this helped.

Edit: Oh, and a new product that I'm trying now and think I will really like is GH's 100% Alaskan Forest Humus. It give the soil a lot of life, or is supposed to. We'll see..:joint:

Double edit: Another thing I usually do is put a layer of diatomacious earth in the bottom of each container, it is high in silica and holds a lot of water.

Thank you so much sir!
That will give me some thinking to do.

One thing I couldn't understand from your words is the rooting hormone.
You mean Clonex type or Root-Juice type?

Thank's again.

Shit, I should have said root stimulator, not hormone. At transplant I usually use some Greenfuse root stimulator. Apollo 13 making me head spin.
