Help with DWC setup

I have searched for hours for a simple 1 plant DWC setup and cannot find what I'm looking for. As I hate it when people ask before they search, I made sure to look everywhere. I get the basic principles of the DWC but have a couple questions. Utilizing a 5 gallon bucket, with a suspended basket. There will still be 6 or so inches from the bottom of the basket to the nutrients. At first the roots will not be hanging, so how do they get their nutrients? Should I fill the bucket enough to where the top of the nutrients are over the bottom of the basket? Help me out...pictures would be superb. Thanks

for the deep ones, you need to either watch your rockwool/peat and water it when it needs it (frequently if there is a fan and high heat) or set up a drip system for it, and when the roots are good and in the water you can chill out on the top feed.

if there is no roots yet comming through the water level should be about 1/2 inch below the cup/basket, with your air bubblers goin 24/7. the bubbles will pop and soak the bottom of the basket.

i'm still kind of a newbie to water culture.. but that is the general idea, i have one that i'm trying.. and you have to watch em so they dont dry out at first.. that is the main thing.
