Help with deciding on scrapping my tent! Heat issues!

I meant for the flaps outside that cover the zips, on my tent they kinda stick up in the air a bit.
CPU fans are better than nothing and anytime you're there when lights are on you could open the zip, it all helps.
We're heading toward Autumn again so come October and November temps will drop even more so if you can enough fresh air into them you should be good.
This is a 9 inch I was using for extraction with a 250w hps and it although not ideal it did work well.CAM00180.jpg

Ah I get what you mean now, I don't have that problem, my zip flaps are sitting quite well on my tent. It's the air vents on the sides that are letting so much orange light out that I will have to get blackout blinds or cover them from the outside just to stop the light shining out so much.

That fan you have is larger than what I had pictured in my head, so thanks for posting the pic! I like your makeshift reducer for it lol does the job nicely by the looks of it.

And yeah since the colder weather is coming soon I fear I may have problems with low temps during the lights off period, which I can easily sort with a heater on a thermostat. It quite cold here to the point that I find heating the whole house can be a problem, but I'm sure a small tent will heat quite easily as long as I slow down my extraction a bit.

Well its about time I get some shut eye, sun is about to rise and this is going to be another short night of sleep for me again.

Thanks again.

That fan is a 9' so a bit big for the vents.
The passive vent flaps on mine are the same also, I just put a bit of velcro tape in the centre so the sides are still sticking up a bit and letting in air, you could also cover from the outside though.
For the winter you could have your lights on during the night when it is coldest and off during the day, also you vent the hot sir through ducting into another room such as your bedroom, should help heat it up a little.
Take it easy:)

I have my filter sitting on the floor outside my 4x8x8 DR240W bloom tent , it has a 452cfm 6' fan that splits.1/2 goes through lights (600w in a yieldmasterII aircooled hood)and exhausts out other side of tent, the other half is blown into the tent(not pointing at plants, preferably at lights). The tent slightly inflates and I use a plain piece of 6' ducting as passive exhaust.Just keep as much cool, fresh air as possible going into room the tents in. My temps stay around 85f when lights on.

Sorry if I have picked you up wrong but you have air blowing IN the tent and a passive exhaust? Your filter aint doing anything with it setup like that.

You must have a fan exhausting air through a filter and then have a passive intake with a negative pressure instead of inflating your tent. Smell will be escaping via every exit on the tent including zips, seams and vents.

If I have picked you up wrong, please correct me but I am sure I am reading it correctly...

I have my filter > fan > ducting > cooltube (best purchase ever!) > ducting > attic and then just a passive intake from the room the tent is in.

I will be taking cool air from below the floorboards as soon as I can get some tools for making a hole in the floor properly so that it can be replaced easily and quickly if need be.

The air from the room my tent sits in is scrubbed every 10-12 minutes by the phreshfilter and inline fan. I know its not a direct filtering of the air from the tent, but Im in a highrise condo. No way to vent or exhaust to or from the outside for me. So I have an ONO airfreshener that automatically gives a little spritz of smell neutralizer every 30 mins in grow area. Its not the most ideal setup, but it holds steady temps in my tent. Im in a legal state so Im less worried my neighbors smell some green. I blow smoke signals all day anyway......................

Ah ok that's not so bad then. I had pondered whether that method of cleaning air would work?? Maybe no so much of a good method for me in the UK but you are one of the lucky sods over the other side of the pond who are actually ALLOWED to grow lol I envy you :p

So how smelly is the room using this method? As in smelly I don't mean cover up smells.

Well....you can lightly smell the grow when u walk into my condo.I havent made it full bloom yet here at this location. Im at day 15 since flip.I dont want to steal his thread.. But if hes having heat issues, he just needs to keep the air refreshing in the tent and keep room temps that the tent sits in as cool as possible. I use the condos AC. His fan may be powerful enough to split into two air streams though...

................after rereading the thread, the earlier poster was right. You need to upgrade your fan to a higher cfm. Also I run my exhaust vent out of my tent and out the door into my dining area, unless i have company. Anything u can do to get that hot air into another room......??
