HELP reveg this little lady! small clone, healthy roots, NO NEW SHOOTS

Hey all -

So I am attempting to get this little lady to shoot some new growth - as you can see she has a little green left in the leaves she has, but is not faring too well at this point I fear.

The roots actually have been growing really well; it has been quite a while now that she has been in her current set up (around 2 months, possibly a little longer) and all I can seem to get is more roots! Will she eventually start some new vegitative growth? Is there anything I can do to push the process along?

Its a dwc setup with a large airstone and standard concentration nutes. The lights are on an 18/6 sched, and I have been keeping a humidity dome over her to keep the rH up a little, cause a basement will get gross if you don't keep it dry. The plant sits at about 70 degrees F and 55% rH - the rest of the basement is around 35-40% at basically the same temp - although Winter is Coming (lil GRRM humor for ya...HOUSE STARK! lol) and the basement will probably cool off a little but being under the lights seems to keep the temps constant.

I have tried having the dome over completely, but then mold starts to grow on the plants. One leaf was pretty bad, so I pulled it off (this was a few weeks back) and thought that that raw spot where the leaf came right off would be a place that new growth would happen, but alas...

If anyone has anything at all to help, that would be fantastic! Otherwise, I guess I'll just keep yalls posted on how this goes! Interesting lil project, to say the least. Did OK on my last harvest so just wanting to see if I can keep this line going (been running this line for almost 2 years now!) as restarting from seed is not something I really WANT to do...thanks all!

What sort of lighting are you using and how close is it to the plant? I would say remove the dome it looks way to humid in esp once they have roots humidity isn't necessary as much in there.( I have never used a dome to clone but I also clone in a areoponic machine. I even notice like moss/alge on some of those coco pellets? Although I grow soil not sure if thats a good thing.. gl

You don't need a dome if your doing Hydro or aero so stop putting that on. Also have you gave it a shot of N yet? I would say its time if you haven't not a lot just about 100 ppm worth that will help a lot to kick in Veg. Also flip that light to 20/4 for the next two weeks then bring it back to 18/6. I just reveg my Sky walker OG all I did was after harvest pulled it from ground (was outdoors) left 3 popcorn buds on it about the size of a dime cut about 3/4 of the root ball off and put it in gallon milk jug of roots organic with top cut off and put it on 20/4 under 300w mH about 10 inches away for 2 weeks then brought light to 18/6 and its going on the 4th week and I have new shoots everywhere 10 to be exact. Even the buds are becoming new branches.

What are your reservoir temps and ph and what light are you using? I see algae that's not good and also it looks like your reservoir might not be 100% Light proof. You need a lid to cover them stones so no light gets in.

thanks for the input guys! appreciate it.

the lights are approximately 3ft away from the plant. its a 432w 8 bulb T5HO. i could/should raise her up a little. i know she can be pretty much touching the lights - but without getting into all the background, i havent had time for this lil gal (CLEARLY) and making adjustments to the environment has been too much.

the algae on the hydroton is not preferred, but not harmful to the plant, from what I am told. not particularly worried about that.

the humidity dome does make the rooting process faster, and indeed that is the dome from my cloner. i was figuring that having the dome over the lady would encourage new growth, and that is one the of the main questions i was hoping to have answered...the rH in the basement is super low, as i run a dehu constantly, set at 35%, so wanted to ensure the proper environment to encourage growth.

to your point megatron, i should change the res over, but since that lil lady is the only thing drinkin outta her, and the big ass airstone runs constantly, and the temps of the environment and the res itself are constant and a little on the cooler side, the levels are pretty stable. i dont use fancy-pants nutes to exacting doses - just veg nutes for veg and flower for flower. no additives. i honestly dont even bother measuring TDS, long as you rinse everything with clean water and put in approx. the recommended dosage, the levels are good enough to support aggressive growth in a plant like cannabis. i like the simple, straightforward approach. i definitely should do a changeover though. its about that time.

the pH of the res is slightly acidic, due to in equal parts the nutrients and the well water, and the hydroton comes up past the level of the holes in the net pot making the res essentially light proof - and the res itself is id say 95% opaque. i havent tempd the res, mmm ever! but actually thats not a bad idea! i will do so and report back, but regardless it is on the cooler side of warm, to hazard a guess - 60F. certainly not a terrible temp.

other than doing a res change, any other ideas? wait longer? lol. i am betting something will eventually happen, but anything to push the process along...

Get your light way closer your not rooting so light don't need to be that far away. Remember your tryna get some new growth with the light that far away its gonna be kind of hard for her to get the amount of light she needs. Add some veg nutes and leave that dome off. Putting that dome on your asking for trouble in a aero/hydro correct your ph I like to be in the 5.5-5.0 range. Keep the tank cool and dark and your good. Oh and get some cal/mag in there too

thanks megatron! i did take the advice and get her closer to the lights, also did a changeover of the res, and added a pump to recirc. i am hoping that that will do the trick. quick question though, what did you mean when you said using a dome for hydro is asking for trouble? just curious.

hey highness! thanks for droppin by! yeah the whole lil lady is fried lol - doin what i can to get her to shoot some new growth. more of a science project really. fun fun though!

Sorry for the late reply. What I ment by your asking for trouble using a dome is everytime I used a dome with my aero things never went good. I figure like this when you use a dome its to keep the plant moist if it don't have roots or for a seedling and you don't have a seedling and your roots get plenty of water so no need. How close is your light now you should have it no more then 6 inches away and did you add N and correct ph? This may seem like little stuff that don't matter but what I have learned about reveg is every small detail plays a big role on how successful and quick your reveg goes.

hey all!

So i bit the bullet and discarded that lady. BACK TO THE BEGINNING! I had been using that particular strain of ladies since I originally started growing 2 years ago. Finally, the last female hath kicked it...

I did attempt to pop 10 new seeds of the same strain, so far, 8 out of 10 popped, and 3 out of the 8 have come up out of the cubes. I transplanted the 3 yesterday into SOIL! Thats right, going simple and easy. Hoping to get at least 1 female obviously to snag some clones off of. I will start a new thread for that soon and let yalls know! I am actually pretty excited to be back in soil - had the best luck with that overall, so glad to be back to something tried and true. Going to keep it small scale.

Thanks for the advice on the burnt lady guys. I think it would have eventually grown; but I dont have that kind of time.
