Help! Please!

I got an infestation of fungus gnats, I just got some sticky tape a week ago and it helped but not alot. The gnats are just chillin by the trunks of my girls, especially the Larry OG. shes starting to show some lighter lime green on her new growth and some other leaves. I know I should get some perlite and put it over the top but what else? Gnatcontrol, I hear is good. do you think my larry will bounce back if I get rid of the maggots in my soil? Help please? BTW all my girls are 2 weeks into flower, if that helps with anything.

here is what you need to do

take a potato, cut in half and put cut side down on the soil
12 hours later look at cut side with a scope and see what bugs you have first
if you have small worms with black head = fungus gnats. get some BT! (gnatrol) water in as directed.

if you have little might/aphid looking bugs, then you have Root aphids. and need to go to war.
aphids suck and there are a lot of things people are trying some work some dont, most work for a little while but they tend to keep coming back.

it depends on you if you want to go chemi or organic. but organic is very difficult with RAs, the key is rotating treatments. merit 75 or bayer tree works great, but is systemic.

google root aphids and you will find a bunch of threads on the subject.

good luck
BTW it sounds like RAs to me.

they both look like fruit flies

one way to tell by the flyers. is the RA s tend to stay near the plant and fly quickly in a straight line. they can also be found near the drainage holes. difficult to clap kill. will fly under the lights.

fungus gnats tend to fly away from the plants near the top of your room and fly very hazardously. very easy to clap kill.

i have had to deal with both FG and RA and they are very difficult to tell apart.
better safe than sorry.

also, a lot of people are saying that when they have RA they also have FG and visa versa. sometimes people have both at the same time.
