I have my light set for 18/6. Lights on at 5pm till 11am. Time to flower my girls and need to know whats the easiest way to set them to 12/12 without stress. My dawn is at 11am. :wall: My grow is in fox farm soil. Been using sensi grow A&B during veggie. 400 watt HPS wil be used for flowering. :bigjoint:

Yea man, unplug your timers or turn them off for 24 or 36 hours, or how ever many hours you need to, to match up with your new schedule. Just make sure its at least 24 hours. It apparently helps with the plants recognizing that it needs to flower and turns them faster. Haven't done a side by side myself, but that's just what Ive read.

LOL! Yah, I've read that here, but have NEVER met anyone who does it! (Except on here:dunce:) I dont remember a 36 hour period of darkness before any season changes here:lol:

I've done both, starting 12/12 immediately and giving them 36 hours of darkness. I saw no difference or benefits from doing one over the other. Use extended darkness if it assists the change of light schedule, but other than that it isn't necessary in my opinion.

I have read messages in forums on sites like this where people say give them a period of darkness and then change but nothing I have ever read from top growers or breeders has ever said to do that. If anything if someone wanted to try to emulate nature they should slowly shorten the time each day, maybe not as slow as Mother Nature does it but by like a half hour per day or maybe an hour per day and ease them into the change but since I have never seen or read anything from the pros or from breeders that says give them a period of darkness I don’t see any reason to not just cut the time down all at once.
