Hi everyone, this is my first time growing, my plants are 5 weeks vegged and now into their 8th week of flowering and only one of my plants and only on the main stem on the top of the cola is drying out... I spry them twice or more daily, and water/feed them every other day. I do not know the temp inside my grow room, but all of the other buds look just as healthy as could be.
I thought maybe someone would know why, or had any advice as what to do. I've looked around for similar problems searching on here and google, but nothing matches the problem I seem to be having.
I have already cut some of the top off, only because it was pretty much bone dry, then smoked it:blsmoke:. It was pretty amazing actually, but I could tell that it wasn't completely done, and would like to flower them for at least 2 or even 3 more weeks and cure them properly.
Any advice is much appreciated!! Thanks dudes!!:leaf:

:peace:

8th week of flowering they should be pretty close to done, unless it's sativa(shit takes forever) u should always know the temps of ur grow space, as well as the humidity, both of these MAY be ur issue. Low humidity combined with high heat from the lights can really crisp up a plant quick. What u using for light? Have u tried raising it? Also, foiar feeding is not somethin u wanna be doin during flowering as it promotes vegetive growth, and more importantly, u don't wanna do it with the lights on, this could be hurtin em as well. Those drops of water on the plant ar like a magnifying glass in the sun, frying ur plant. How much do u water and when?

Thanks so much for the quick response guys!! :)

I'm using a high pressure sodium light 1000W, and my plant is about 3.5 feet from the light. there are also other plants in there as well. I spray them ONLY with water, and switch off and on every other day with watering and feeding. (ex. I'll water them on Monday, feed them on Wednesday, water on Friday, ect..)
The low humidity and high heat may be my problem, but it's not too hot, even though i don't know the exact temp. but I have a total of 3 fans; one passive intake, one passive outtake, and a standard floor fan inside the grow room. I also have a vent above the light..
Would you have any suggestions for the low humidity? how can I make it higher?

Thanks again!

Peace

probably from spraying twice a day. a 1000 watt hps through beads of water would surely burn. got any pics?

If your humidity is low that's a good thing, not something you need to correct by spraying water. You should NEVER NEVER NEVER spray water on plants in bud, you probably grew a fungus that's called bud rot.

It's a nasty stuff that can ruin your entire crop even after you harvest, and is not at all good for you to smoke either, can lead to nasty lung infections. Bud rot can go from that one top to every other nug even after you hang them to dry or while you are curing it in jars or anything. As long as there's any moisture left at all in the plant material bud rot will continue to grow and consume your weed and that includes bud that's at just the right humidity level to smoke, the rot will still grow on that.

Is it all powdery? If you smack a bud on a piece of white paper and then post a pic of the resulting dust and the bud then we will know for sure. Don't spead that dust around your house, do this somewhere else.

If you're certain you didn't burn the tops with the light then it's some kind of fungus or mold would be my guess, but I can't be certain it's bud rot though from the pictures you posted. You didn't knock it on a piece of paper either...

Your description of one of them having just the leaves go but not the bud makes me wonder if I was right about bud rot in the first place though. Could be any fungus or mold, but I can't tell you which.

Anyone else?

Don't spray water in flower next time.

Dfamn man, that's bad. Either u got some sort of mold like someone said before, or u totally fried it. I've heard of foil creating hotspots, but DAMN. Hopefully its not some nasty ass bud-rot, and isnt's not soo dry that when u smoke it it starts on fire.... Next time, know ur temps and humidity at all times, ditch the tin foil for mylar or white paint. Sorry, but that stuff doesn't look like somethin I'd want to smoke

Allright, thanks for the help everyone! It actually turned out not to be bud rot.. it just started to dry out because the light was too much heat for it. it wasn't moldy or anything, and it didn't smell funky or whatnot.. those are not the greatest pics either, i should have put them under different lighting.. :eyesmoke:

So I just ended up harvesting her and she's hanging up to finish drying. I also cut off the top bud of my other plant, as it was beginning to dry out a little as well..

I grabbed a 400 watt hps, so now hopefully I'll have better luck! I'll also pick up one of the temp./humidity thermometer tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone!:blsmoke:
