Help please need to clear up a possibly false rumor/myth!

Ok so I have a small two room garden. I have a 4x4 tray under a 1000 watt hps in one room and in my veg room I got a 4x2 under a 4ft T5 as well as another 2ft t5 for my mothers in pots. Rooms share ventilation but are totally sealed and insulated from the outside world ( except of course for the filtered intake air and exhaust) I've recently started my first grow with seeds with plans to simply pick the two strongest females out of the bunch to establish them as my mothers. Realizing that I am a couple months away from being able to produce enough clones for my SOG, I went to a local clinic and bought a batch of 22 healthy rooted female clones so I could get this show on the road. Now the rumor that my partner believes to be true is that our female clones will turn hermie in the presence of our male seedlings. This makes no sense to me and i refuse to beleive it. The seedlings are only about 3 weeks old and are not showing their sex yet. I plan to kill any males as soon as their male preflowers are spotted long before any pollination could possibly take place. But do I run the risk of my female clones Turning hermie simply from the presence of a couple males in the same room!? Ive found nothing on the subject after hours of research on hermie causes. My partner seems to be convinced this is true and he's driving me crazy with his accusations that I'm ruining our garden. He doesnt read books doesn't read these forums and only believes what people tell him. So please somebody clear this up for me if you know it's BS or if it's true and youve had first hand experience with this phenomenon please tell me! Your females will NOT herm being close to males.... And if you partner has anything to say tell him to go talk to DSNUTTS lol

i could see logic in the reverse, hermies reverting to female in the presence of males seedlings. logic being that hermies are self polinating and with males in the house that isn't necessary. Still that's absurd too.

Your partner really needs to learn about growing i think. This is not a concern at all.

Problem #1: Having a partner.
Problem #2: Having an idiot for a partner hahah just kiddin', but yea, I have baby clones around unsexed seedlings ALL the time, and never had an issue like that.
I've tried the partner thing, and it never works out, unless you have a silent PARTNER.

Yea I think he was a little confused between hermaphroditism ( if that's a word) and just plain old pollination. I tried to explain but since he heard this from a semi - experienced grower and I myself have never grown anything in my life I just had to double check and get some more experienced opinions and let him see for himself. So hey wheezer. How long from seed before I can see preflowers that are distinctive enough to determine sex? I have a magnifying glass and I am looking for pistils on the little almond shaped sacks that can be found at the 4th or 5th node correct? Is this an accurate enough way to do it or should I take clones and flower the clones to know for sure? Do vegetative males have the ability to prematurely release pollen if I wait another few weeks for the clones to show sex? Sorry kinda paranoid. I Just want to make sure I dont fuck up my first grow as I am the sole investor in this project( my partner is just a trusted friend who is providing the perfect and secure location). Any advice from anyone on these questions would be greatly appreciated!
