yea the white is perlite and the blue ball are slow release ferts. i have never had problems with soil that has nutes in it and you usualy dont see problems unless you add nutes on top of that, the nutrients in that will last about a month, after that all you have to do is add a few handfulls of new soil on top or transplant it into a bigger pot with new soil. dont worry about getting nutes or giving it any other nutes. for your first few grows it really is just something else to get in the way. get a few grows down and then maybe check out nutes. if you want to strengthen up the stem you should just get a small fan, maybe a computer fan or a small desk fan and have it on the plant just enough to make it quiver, this will simulate wind and make the stem grow to suport the top.
if you do decide to get nutes later when its bigger, i reccommend General Hydroponics flora series. its a 3 part advanced nurtient system, probly the easiest nutrient system to begin with. if you get it PM me and i have a really usefull chart that will tell you exactly how much of what to mix with however much water and what the ppm will be with that mixture, if you get a nutrient system you need a ph up/down kit also. General Hydroponics also sells a very easy system for that too.
