Hi everyone!!...i need help!
i had this seedlings one week old.. and first the leaves seem to be wrinkled, and then looks like was over-watering... im using hydro.. 4gallons res, with a 15 gallon air pump and a 25 cm air stone... the first thing that i did was to mantain lower the water level....
but from yesterday to today... the leaves have less wrinkles.. seems to be a little bit healthy, but i noticed some roots that began to turn brown and that scares me a lot. here are some pictures...
yesterday the roots were clean white..

Any tips, ideas, or help? is that ok or im beginning to have root rot?? or maybe some king of algue...
my reservoir is the classic sterilite blue... i dont think that the light is traspassing..

Ill appreciate any help!! thank you!!

What is your water temps?

moving thread to dwc
Between 25 - 27ºC (78ºF)

the roots were fine days ago... the plants look like over-water only
.. then i changed the water nutrient mix about 20 hrs ago, .. i was using mild strenght of nuts (100 ppm )... and now im in 200ppm (the water that im using have an initial 100ppm... so my ppm meter show 300 ppm)
... few hours ago just spray water to the roots and kind of remove brown shit..
and i also bought another air pump and stone.. but im just waiting for the lights to be on in order to install it.
Thanks for your help!!! i appreciate!

My best guess would be water temp.. In my oppinion that is too hot... When it is so hot i will not get as much oxygen as it should.. That could explain why your babies looks like that..

I can tell u now that that res is not lightproof. There is no such thing as over watering in hydro, it is lack of o2.

i checked the temp 5 mins ago it was 24ºC(75.2ºF) and i think that was almost all week.. after i move my growbox to a room with Air Conditioner...a week ago

Still Hot?

Lower the temps and get a lightproof res.
I already did that... 10 hours ago... Covered the res .. So its dark now...
Also the temp of in the water is now 22 C .. But no signs of getting better.. Ill upload photos in a few minutes ..
Thanks for ur help ..im kind of worried
I was using 6 CFL (65 watts 3900 lumens each) .. I turn off two of them.. Was like 3 inches far from the plant .. I put them higher .. Like 6 inches..

Hi!! I really thank you all your help!! i did anything i could, keep low Temp, block light to reservoir, bought another air pump, irrigation system... but the plant looked the same..... suddenly the plants become healtier!! and then become droopy again... so i thought that the last thing i did was to accommodate the air stones..( i have a rocks in order to keep them in the bottom, because they float a lot).. so the next thing i did was to accommodate and try not to obstruct the air at all... that was like 9 hours ago and if u see the pictures everything goes good.!!!...
i was freaking out.. so i read a lot..and i was thinking to give a help to the plants....
Aqua shield and Pond Zyme are difficult to get were i live.. even in my country..is there another similar product that i could get at the acuarium?..
i read about Hydrogen peroxide??... what do you think about it?
Thanks for your help!!!... it was very educational!!.. really appreciate!

A droopy plant does not mean its unhealthy all the time. Some respond to high humidity differently than others by drooping.... Just my 2 cents. If the leaves are green and the roots are clean the plant should be fine. Humidity, room temp, and distance from light, will make the plant and leaves shift in different ways.

Yeah, I say lower the water temps a bit and get a light proof res. Maybe run some H202 as well. Some say that certain nutes can stain your roots. So you could check on that, too.

Basically what Bacon and Superstoner have been saying. Lightproof the res. Hell, I'd recommend ducting insulation, the stick on kind. It'll help protect from too much heat transfer, boost light efficiency (not necessarily enough to matter) and light-proof the res.

Maybe freeze a few 1L bottles and throw em in the res at lights on. If you have the money, a chiller would be better.

What's your air-gap below the net pots? Once roots hit water, I usually leave a 1" air gap between the water and the bottom of the pot.
Running some H202 would help keep things sterile, and boost DO a little bit. I always used it when I didn't have a chiller.

when i transplanted mi seedling to DWC , the water was at the level of the pot... days ago were like half inch ..yesterday rised the water level a little... ill keep it low... and see what happens.
