ive read you should try get 8 strong branches at the same height and then set off to flower but use a net to bend em in veg.befire hand,i got a 1.2 fitted net on order.
gutted bout the airpots, if there that bad,i was thinking of wrapping 1 length of cling film round the top of the pot to help aim the feed down.(what what you think of a circular drip system.)also might help me getting in there more often.
Your plants are exactly what im wanting to replicate.must be hell of a lot more effiencent with the canopy.
im gonna take a bit more time in veg .now and definately gonna try a full crop lst,as you say growers go over the top im opposite and barely pull a leaf off so this is new to me i havent even read about it in 'soft secrets' unless ive missed one.
do u snip the top of mate or do you just bend it over?
Cheers for your time again jack,i cant wait to get back frm holland and re-start depending on outside temps.
were getting 4 seasons a day, doesnt help u know.i took your last advice and dropped my lamp a few inch, taking a while to finish that black jack.
heres a pic of a couple purpl#1 in veg.growing a foot a week in our cumbrian weather.cheers20160627_160632.jpg 20160627_160632.jpg

I have read about a lot of different drip systems and they sound great but never used one

about the air pots pots and cling film round the top of the pot, just sounds like you block the holes them and so there no point holes being there in the first place
I have used air pots and the water goes every where and you can't get round that

that's look at the basics of an air pot, its designed so plants don't get root bound so it may be great for large plant in a 20ltr air pots, its going to keep it happy for a long time ( don't think it can gets root bound)

but after my plants are potted up into a 14ltr bucket, i chop them down in less than 3 mouths say 10 weeks in flower and 2 weeks in veg so my plants will never get root bound so wants the point
its never going to help my plants

topping a plant check this link

try and top it so you get the 2 sets of nodes together like on the video, this will give you 4 tops

a week or 2 later you should be-able to do it again to the 4 tops and you will have 8 tops or more

the shorter the plants when you do this the better ( but you need at least 2 sets of nodes and the part you want to cut off)

this gives the plant more time to recover

pull the shoots down every day and when they are wide enough to cover the screen, flower them off and let them grow

Me too ive never used a drip system,i also thought the same about the cling film but was only gonna wrap around top 8' inch maybe.im starting in 3 inch pots then 8 inch then 20l final pot coco/perlite.
ive used 1 airpot before i got a little flow out the sides, nothing major.they cost enough so hope there worth it!!
i say if i have to water slower in the airpots it might do me some good getting back in there everyday and helping my back or ill be a lazy get and get a drip feed my pals got 1 for free.
ive got em now so time will tell mate.
thanks for the help.

Was thinking about cutting small holes in some mcdonalds straws and putting them near the plant in the 20 l airpots, about 6 a pot?
i know it sounds a bit of overkill but would deliver the feed further down, hopefully would soak evenly!!.
Bad idea or not anyone??

don't think a mcdonalds straws going to do it mate but a root funnel would :)
use a root funnels so there half way down the pot at an angle so the funnel in the middle of the root mass :)

this way there no mess and you can water quick

don't think it makes any difference or everybody would be doing it, Once in a while a grower says to leave the plants in dark for 24h to a few days

good question frank

I like to cut all the fan leaves off before harvesting the plant, i trim the larger sugar leaves and leave the rest on the plant for the best yield

then hang it upside side down for a week, cut the buds off when the buds are dry
