yeah.
i'd avoid water cures if you smoke.

i'd quick cure a suspicious looking bud and do a hot/dry vape to see what it did in that case...

Here's the thing, you used a toxic chemical on the plants 6 weeks ago that lasts for 12 weeks. So... The chemicals are still in the plant.

Removing these chemicals is not going to happen during the drying process. You need to be actively flushing toxins from the plant.

Being that you already harvested it... I don't see any other way of considering this stuff safe to smoke. Sure, there is risk with water curing. But isn't it riskier inhaling that BS into your lungs without doing a water cure?

There are a few instructionals around. It's a very easy process of just changing the water regularly. Most of the people arguing against the method probably have not tried it.

If this were my own stash there is no way I'd take the risk with that stuff. Could give you cancer, or lesions, or herpes or something. I don't know, and I don't care to find out. Do yourself a favor, research the shit out of the method and try it out. Maybe not all the stuff. Water cure just a few grams at first. If it works for you the first time then give the rest of it a shot. If not then all you lost was some bud that could do some serious damage to you.

IMHO, everyone telling you to just dry your toxic plants and smoke them is giving you some really, REALLY, bad advice. I read a lot about water curing and don't hear many people complain of their bud molding. When it does it's because they did something wrong. Mold doesn't grow under the water... Fungus needs air and moisture. Being that the plants dry in hours, rather than days, I don't find more risk with one method over another.

Sure, you lose some bag appeal... but it gets you just as high and it is cleaner.

hey raw, no offense man(you seem like a pretty cool guy), but looking through your posts its pretty obvious your rather new to growing.
(don't mean that in a bad or derogatory way)
When It comes to chemicals that can hurt you, if you are not 100% you shouldnt advise people to risk it.

This is the problem Snow Crash.....i dont want to bin it after all the work thats gone into producing it. But i dont want to die or get ill from it either.

Im not 100% happy with the water curing method as i do smoke it...that being said, id rather it have no taste than give me something nasty.
I think my freezer method would kinda achieve the same thing as the water curing...the water would freeze with the chemicals in it and evaporate off.
If i were to put the bud straight into the freezer...in a container the moisture would be extracted along with these chemicals...this would stick and freeze to the inside of the container....i could repeat the process until the buds were completely dry??

I wish id never have used this stuff lol and wont in the future.

Freezing the bud when wet will cause the cells to explode as the ice crystals expand. I'm not sure the effect this will have on the bud, but I don't think it will make any difference cleaning the buds. Ice still melts, then evaporates. So it goes back to where it was before you froze it. In essence, freezing it and drying it normally are no different.

And for the record, no, I have never used a single pesticide in my garden. I make sure to grow my own mother plants because of all the spider mite horror stories I hear about. Haven't seen any bug in my garden in probably 18 months. Before that it was fungus gnats which are easy to dispose of.

Gotta be careful with pesticides man. REALLY careful.

Don't dedicate all the bud to water curing up front. Just give it some practice. If you wind up feeling okay with the smoke you get off a few grams of water cured bud then maybe do a few more grams. It'll take some time, but you will get it, and I just cannot stomach you risking your health just to get a little high.

Don't be an addict, you know... Have some self control and do the right thing. I think you know what it is, you just don't want to fuck up. Take it slow, learn as you go, and things will work out.

Vaporize if you can...

I am rather new to growing. But I would not advise him to TOSS the batch before testing it. =/ IMHO we do plenty of harm to our bodies without thinking twice in our daily lives. I know Vet growers who would rant on you Daily for not growing organic. most NUTES ARE POISON to them. praise for the worry but IMHO. try the bud. Who knows if your Non-Organic nutes cause you cancer 20 years down the road.

Did a little research into the product. I must admit, I've seen more toxic stuff.

The heat from the smoking process should actually break down most of the compounds. There is another one, Abamectin, that you need to be more mindful of.

Both of these insecticides are widely used in agriculture apparently, so you "should" actually be okay. I mean, I'd hate to be wrong... but probably okay.

They are both neurotransmitter inhibitors. So if you start having trembles, or seizures, you should probably stop. I imagine that brain damage would be the number one toxicity issue with these chemicals in high enough concentrations, but you probably have to swallow it to get enough in you.

They are also used in fumigation processes, and that's some really toxic shit, but it is also because there are many other compounds present in fumigation gasses.

Personally, I'd probably still water cure a little bit just to see if I could do it and if it was alright for me to smoke. Maybe compare the two... And if the non-water cured stuff seems okay to you then it probably is.

Sorry for being all doom and gloom. I should have done some more homework before thinking it was more toxic than it really is. Honestly, not a lot is known about the stuff (I don't think they tested the inhalation of the product on humans) but based on the concentration present in the plant at this point you should be just fine, I hope... Still though... Risky behavior.

no need to apologize.
Best to shoot first and ask questions later when dealing with toxic stuff.

thank you for the data

Theres not really a great deal of information about human studies thats why im concerned....the only stuff i could find was about pigeons and mice lol.
That other chemical isnt systemic....so its more like a film over the sprayed areas, as far as im aware it doesnt get into the actual plant itself.
I wish there was more information on this lol.

Im pretty sure ive smoked bud laced with all kinds of toxins in the past when i was buying it from people. Most of the stuff around my way is afghan import...so god knows what they do to that lol. Ive had bud with glass, sand all sorts, thats why i have been growing for the past 2 years :)

This is the first time ive ever used a pesticide...and will more than likely be the last. The whole point of having a joint is to relax...and i know the first one from this batch il be anything but relaxed haha

I appreciate everyones input...it seems im the first person to have this problem...and you have all been great in helping me :)
Ive given all of you rep....il give you some more once im allowed to :)

Lots of ideas, and lots of good advice....

Definitely one of the reasons I chose to grow my own. Didn't know what I was getting, and everything was getting called "Purp" but didn't get you all that high. Just locked on the couch.

That and I was buying a $150 1/2 oz. every week. So... 52 weeks in a year... $7,800 per year in weed when purchased. I did that for about 6 years.

There is a reason I don't drive a BMW... I like weed.

I'm into growing now at a cost of about $2,500 and I've offset my smoking for the last two years... Pretty good deal.

damn.....i only stop smoking when i run out of my stuff....i refuse to pay £20 ($35) for 1.6g of wet shitty bud, which is mostly LEAF!!!

I bought some a few months back, by the time id thrown the stalks and leaves away i was left with 0.6g of actual bud...for £20!!! Even then i binned it because it looked moldy and smelt like crap :P

Got loads of kids growing around my way, they are purely in it for the money so yea you are probably right lol. God knows what i smoked over this 15 years haha
Got kids selling it here for £350 ($620) an oz LOL, and thats crap that hasnt flowered long enough.

EDIT for Snow crash: Ive only spent a few hundred £ on my stuff over the past 2 years....equipment mainly so i think ive saved a fair few ££ over that time haha
I smoke about 1/2 oz a week too.....when i was buying i would buy about 8 £20 bags a week at the cost of £160....and for that id have about 8g of actual bud.

Its got to the point where il go cold turkey until my next crop is ready haha
Same as you...they would call it anything to justify the price...white widow is what they try and pass it off as now, but there no way its white widow....i can smoke a £20 bag and not even feel stoned, its not even close to white widow...but kids are gullible and will accept their word :P

sooo....all was ok haha it didnt kill me or give me brain damage :P
It turns out that this stuff is ok to use...even as late into flowering as i did it lol :)
Ive got some more on the go now....no bugs :) Got some nute burn i think but i just flushed them...ive uploaded a vid to youtube which i will post on here in a bit

EDIT: IM NOT SAYING USE THIS OVER OTHER PRODUCTS
