Yo im new to the forum
im a first timer at this and everything was going well. im about 4 days into growing and my plants are about 3 inches high.
when i left my house this morning everything was going well and they were standing straight. then SHOCK HORARR when i came home afew hours later they were all on their sides, as if they collapsed! lol im devestated
can anyone help me out???
any help would be much apreciatedd
Thnkz:cry:

thnks err i have two 24 inch flourecent lights above them and they are about 3 inches above the seedlings. i watered them b4 i went out and when i got bak they were on their sides. :?
i dont know about the humidty but its warm but not to warm, around 25 degrees.

If the stem is kinked, you will need to splint them. If the stem is not kinked you may want to splint them anyway if it looks like they will fall over. A straw that is split down the side and then put around the stem works well and is easily removed after it gets stronger. If they are 4 days above ground this should have been your first watering. Make sure you are not over watering.

thnks dat has helped alot. i will put a straw around them and hopefuly the stem will suport itself after while. how long do u reckon it will need to be splintered?
and on the watering, i have been spraying them everyday so that they are always moist on the soils surface. is this right? i think i may have overwatered them because before i left i think i went overboared by sprayin them till the surface look saturated?

just spraying the surface is not enough water. water them by pouring water into their pots, till it comes out the bottom holes (you DID make holes in the bottoms right?) stake dowels next to them with twist ties, the only prob. with straws is sometimes they strangle the stems. stems need air to grow. fans toughen the stems so they will be able to support buds later on. keep your lights as close as poss. without burning them. then water every 3-4 days

so i should water them until water comes out the holes at the bottom every 3-4 days? even when the seedling are only about 4 inches high?

Sorry, i meant a clear plastic humidity dome covering them until they get their first set of real serrated leaves. The seedlings need lots of humidity. Look at the Green House Seed Co instructions. Once they get their first set of real leaves remove the dome and put a fan blowing on them to strengthen their stems and to keep them cool. Then you can give them some Liquid Carma or nutes mixed 1/4 strength.

thnkz. ye they already have their first set of serated leaves. i jus watered it until water came out the bottom and i also put a straw splint on it. should i just wait now until it gets bak to normal? the stem is almost like a piece of string the way it flops but the leaves look green and healthy, hmm. thnkz for da help so far guys, much apreciated

Take them out and repot them...but when you do burry the stems up to the leaves, this will cure the leaning over problem...and then get a fan blowing on them if you don't already.

Only water your plants when the soil is dry...get a moisture meter to elimanate the worry of over/underwatering

are you sure i should bury the whole stem. . because they are bout 4 inches high and they wil prob hit the bottom of the pot lol. if thats kool tel me plz and i wil repot them right away.

ok thnkz. when i repot them wot should i do about watering?
water them straight after with 1/4 nutrients until the water comes out the bottom ? then do so every 3 -4days?

Just water them in place. NO don't feed them, there too young.

Get a moisture meter...you only want to water when the soil is slightly wet...you want the roots to stretch out to find the water in the soil to help it grow big and strong.

It sounds like they are streching. You may need to keep the light closer to them, so they do not try to grow up too fast and make the stems weak before they have a chance to developed. And check them often so when they do grow taller you can move the light up as needed. Also keep a fan on them to strenghten the stems and to keep mold from growing.

yer thats what i thought it was aswell, but one of the seedlings was under about an inch tall and that collapsed aswell, hmm
the whole pant has jus turned soft but the leaves arent wilted. i have no idea wots wrong with itt, its stressing me out lol

I guess we should go to the begining...cause it sounds maybe like your having some root rot maybe, or stem rot...i don't know so we should just start from the basics.

What kind of soil are you using?

my first girl was staked thruout her entire growth because of early stem stretching ( i didn't know any better back then) I never could get her to toughen her stem, so get a fan to toughen them up, bury 'em up to first set of leaves deeper pot if need be. it won't kill them if the pots too small for the um, pot! use the finger method for watering.. stick your finger into the container if it comes up smelling wet or has wet dirt sticking to it, don't water, if you can wiggle your finger around in thesoil, it's dry and time to water again. i don't own any meters, this is the simplest, easiest, and cheapest method i know
