HELP!! my beautiful seedlings seem to be dying

will my pretty's have a healthy normal life

i havnt got my fan going because its winter here and my grow room feels warm, like a good warm. and my thermometer hasnt arrived in the mail yet. anyway im reguly spraying my rockwool cubes with water at a ph of 6.2 and have a 400 watt hps lamp going 18/24 and they seemed to be goin alrite but when i checked them this morning one of my sprouted plants had shriveled up n i think dead? and a couple more that havnt sprouted Properly look as though there dead?

ps, this is first time growing hydro, or anythin Properly

my guess is overwatering

thats not much to go on,
what the rh did you feed them any nutes
whats the distance of the light.
my fluoros are afoot from the tops of my baby
you might have fried them in that dome to much heat
definitly looks to close if thats the pic
of your babys

you shouldnt spray seedlings with water, in fact you prolly will only water their medium once when they are in the cubes. You spray CLONES with water. A bunch of my seedlings didnt sprout and the ones that did were water burned because the soil was way saturated. DOnt over water when they are babies.

my thermoniter is coming in the mail, and so do u think i would need something to measure the rh? cus i havnt thouight of that

and i moved the light up a bit since then, i had it closer cuz i thought a grow tube could be closer but guess i was wrong, ill have a foot away like normal people.

and im using normal tank water with ph 6.2 with nothing at all added to it

i thought if i moved the dome it would dry out to much, i dont no thoguht this is my first time

when i first soaked the rockwool in water for a few hrs i spent a while gettin as much water out of it as i could by shaking them and not squeezing,

so i guess i undid my efforts by spraying them so much, wat if i stop now, would they still have a chance of surviving?

and are u sayin i shouldnt water them again for the whole 2 weeks they will b in the rockwool?

Keep the light back. I don't know if I'd have the light that close if they were mature. You could use a couple CFL's or put that 400 watt bulb a few feet away until they start to get some leaves on them. It looks like they got fried.

if that is a four hundred a foot is still to close for seedlings
i have two fluorecents a foot away i bet you hold your hand
down there its hot those clones are babys you woulnt put
your babys that close to that much light let some of the moisture excape
then put your light 2'-2'.5" feet from them see if they come back then ease
the light back on them

Where did you get that humidity dome and tray?! LOVE IT! Haven't seen that before at any of the grow shops. It looks smaller than the standard flat.

so ill raise my light to 2.5 feet

ill take the dome off

ill turn my fan on

so now about the watering, do i not water it for the next 2 weeks of germination,
or if i do water it should i use like a eyedrop thing to apply water at the base of the plant?
and how much water should i use
and how often should i water it
and how do i know when it needs water?
and will my dying plants have any chance of healing as it cost a bit of money for the seeds......

move the light to where you can hold your hand at the top of ur plants and its not to hot i agree fried and might be a case of over water but im a soil boy havent tried nor want to try hydro anytime soon ive come to like the smell of dirt lol

if your new you shouldnt do hydro. You should start with soil for sure. Sicne you already began its a little late. Stop watering them take the dome off and move the light away. The dome is ALSO for clones only. ONly water when the rockwool begins to dry out. they may survive if you do all of this

they have vents on the top to control
humidity levels in the dome
wal mart temp/rh meter $7.00

I never use a dome during seedling, it simply gets to moist even with the vents open. I usually have to raise the hood a little using chopsticks

Does anyone know where that humidity dome and tray came from????? It's in the picture in the first post, has a maroon bottom with some type of grating material on the bottom. The clear lid has the green vents in the sides. It looks like a very nice little setup.

Never seen this at any grow store. The standard size black tray is too large and I need a tray like this. Ideas, anyone seen this before or know where it came from?

They sell them at every hydro store I have been to. Look online for hydro stores and look up humidity dome on those sites. They usually cost me 4.00 for EVERYTHING including the coco peat to go in. This can house like 50-60 seedlings.
