I used a crock pot to make cannabutter for the first time after my last harvest. The thing worked great.

I love my crockpot....All, you are right, it takes longer in crockpot, but I think it make top-notch butter.
I use the recipe in Ed Rosenthal’s' book--Trash to Stash.

I prefer the water method, as it makes the butter taste better to me.

Here is recipe….

You will need:

Crockpot
Dry buds or plant material
Butter
Stirring utensil
Metal strainer and or cheesecloth or new pair of nylon panty hose.
8 to 14 hours cook time…
I like to use at least one ounce of buds and trim per one cup of butter.
Add 2 cups of water for each cup of butter.
Put butter, buds and water in pot on low for at least 8 hours covered (10-12 is best, IMO).
Stir every so often…add a little more water if needed.

Strain the whole mess thru metal strainer lined with tripled cheesecloth, or use nylon panty hose…strain into a clean bowl….press and squeeze the pulpy mash as much as you can…..after you cannot get any more liquid out ….with a metal strainer (keep pulpy mash in primary straining material) pour some boiling water over the pressed pulp over the bowl of strained butterwater….this melts any remaining butter.

Put the bowl in refrigerator….Once butter solidifies….just separate from water….Voila!
