Get more of 'em. As many as you can. I've never grown with floros or CFLs other than for clones. I started out with a few 400w lights and switched 1Ks. It's gonna take a few CFL's to get up to the 400w range. You ain't gonna corner the weed market with CFLs, but you'll probably get some great personal stash.

MH is nearly always used in large factories as interior "high bay" lighting. HPS is used primarily for security exterior lighting. Go to some commercial lighting companies and see if they have any salvage high bay lights. You'll probably find mostly the 400w MH, but that'll do ya. I found 8 1K HPS ballasts on craigslist for $50 ea. There isn't a single "high tech" or store bought ballast in my place. All salvaged commercial lights. You WILL have to have a bit of electrical knowledge to convert them to remote ballast, though.

thanks a lot everyone for posting about lights. but im not able to afford 300$ stuff. i just want maybe like 200w lights. im not really goig hard with this growing thing because i dont have the money for expensive items. im just go to my local hydro store and see if i see anything there, thanks a lot again guys.
