Help me understand PPM's

Is it your goal to keep the PPM's as high as possible during flowering with out burning your plants? I use BOTANICARE PRO BLUME and I am in soil. The plants look great bot can I bump up the nutes on the next watering?

No. A minimalist effort is usually the most heavily rewarded. The more synthetic your base is, the fewer ppm's. Depending on your TDS meter, you should be finishing anywhere between 1100-1400ppm, if your ppm meter uses a TDS factor of .5, more if you use one with a TDS factor of .7. If you use a more organic based nutrient line up you can run them up to 1600ppm, with no problems at all. At least this is all my experience with this. I am using house and garden in soil, and it's main cola made a can of soda look tiny in comparison.

PPM's also vary by strain and size of the plant. But 3ft is usually as tall as my plants get under a 600w lamp. I think my SFV might have been less than 2ft tall.

You should be increasing the PPM's with every feeding. But you should not be pushing the envelope

Plant: SFV OG. Max TDS: 1200ppm. pH: 6.0. Nutrients: House & Garden Cocos line up (minimal salt build up with this formula). Soil: Fox Farm Happy Frog. Container Volume: 3.5 gallons. Flower: 9 weeks, dry weight... still drying. lol. This particular plant was grown under a 400w in a small unit in my room, instead of my regular grow room. I can't believe the buds I'm getting with just 400w, I might start using lower watts and more lamps in my main room.

I found this thread the other day from years back... I highly recommend reading it.
