I germinated my seeds in a dirty sponge.
I didn't realize what I was doing when I put the seeds in it, but what should I do?

Are the seeds ruined or can I keep growing them?

I once germinated the seeds in a dirty sponge, and they kinda just started stinking and never sprouted. Dunno if this helps. If they have the sprouts coming out of the bottom, plant them and see what happens.

At this point there isn't really anything you can do. If they've cracked, plant them, if not put them in some wet paper towel. They'll sprout of they wont.

put them in a piece of paper towel, and put in a sealed container, and leave in a warm place, like on the cable box.
when did you put them in the sponge?.

I put two pots per pot spaced out about an inch in a small pot.
The reason I put two per pot is because I wasn't sure if they'd sprout properly because of the bacteria from the sponge..

cut the sponge around the sprouts then plant them. the sponege is poris enough the roots should grow through.

Two pots per pot? You mean two seeds?

You do not want to plant them next to each other. If they cracked then there's a fairly good chance they'll sprout. Now you'll have 2 plants that are an inch apart each with a growing root structure that could intertwine with the other. You risk accidently hurting one while trying to transplant the other.

Wait untill about a week or two after it sprouts and do some transplanting, everyone should have their own space, be it a peat moss cup, a plastic solo cup, or right into it's own big pot.

I just put two until one of them sprouts, at which point im removing the other plant and giving the space top the other plant.

I started germinating five more seeds (for two pots. I wasnt taking any chances with them cracking this time) about 42 hours ago. I'm hoping for the seeds to crack tomorrow at some time but am prepared to wait longer. The seeds that I planted without germifying haven't sprouted and neither have the seeds that were germinated in the 'dirty' sponge.

How long has it been?

One of the ungerminated seeds have sprouted! =D
I put it under my 27w CFL bulb and am hoping for some growth.

Out of the five seeds that were germinating three of them have cracked.
Im going to wait for a little bit more growth before I plant them in the peat moss cup.
