Help me pick the best LED lamp from these three

I've narrowed my field to two lights - the S. Diablo and the FC 6500. I'm impressed with the PPFD chart for both, but as said earlier in the thread we don't know if Mars does their own testing or if they farm it out to a lab like HLG.

Anyone who has either lamp please post your experiences, in particular is the S. Diablo too much light for a 4'x4' tent? I see it advertised for a 5' x 5' flowering footprint.

.
Both lights are too much light for a 4x4, use them dimmed until you get that 5x5.
Ive seen independent testing of another mars fixture, it was about 10% under spec as per ppf/w. Migros par map should be reliable.
Id take HLG over mars 500x when it comes to aftersales, seen some mars horror stories.

Thanks for all the advice, looks like most people are for the HLG. Brock sent me this email this morning:

Hey Hobbes,

Interesting discussion.

While the HLG Scorpion Diablo and R-spec are going to be more ideal in limited height environments they may be a bit op for a 4x4. The 650R and 600R will also do well but it will be similar output to the scorpions. The 650/600 also would just require a bit more low stress training.

We did roll out the HLG Blackbird as our newest fixture and this one was designed with a 4x4 in mind.

Lastly, a 4th option is available as well. Running 2 HLG 350Rs. This will be comparable in price with the HLG 650R, but the advantages of running in limited height, similar to a Scorpion Diablo.

Output would have to be a consideration again though. At full power with both 350Rs you would be getting about 1300PPFD across the tent, which is quite a bit.

If I was looking to make a choice it would be:

1: HLG Blackbird
2: 2x HLG 350R
3: HLG Scorpion Diablo.

After that right there, I wouldn't buy a light from anyone else...

I'm rocking an Eagle Grow Light 650-Si. I like the even light spread and how low to canopy this can go. For me, it allows more efficient use of tent space and larger plant sizing
.

Visajoe it looks to be competitive with Mars' FC 6500, a nice light.

How are you liking yours and what was the price?

Thanks.

Medicgrow may be a good option to look at also, i used the ez-8’s and loved them, but the spectrum X or Y they have would be great in a 4x4 and still work in a 5x5. The ez-8’s are 1000w and probably too strong.

agree, similar to mars fc6500. the model i have, however, does not fold. there are other models that do.

i paid 560, shipped. on another thread i think i said 540, but i was mistaken. 560, shipped is what i paid. they had a Christmas promo that i was able to utilize. i am working with them on a referral program, will be setup soon, will be located in my signature. would provide my referrals with 25% discount, bringing current 650si price to $599, save you 2 bills.

im glad i got it! was installed on day 17 of flower and the girls blew up, 4x4 tent. running 100% 15" from canopy with co2 at 1300, within VPD parameters. flowers are swelling now, trainwreck will be done this week, best run ive done with this strain, credit to the light.

one improvement i'll make on next run is orient the light so I can mount the driver outside of the tent. will save me a few degrees inside the tent. the lead on it is long enough, so i dont see any issue accomplishing this with stock design.

if i ever need to fill a room, i can add a few more, daisy chain up to 100, and run em all with one controller they offer for $200.
