Ok im about to do a grow my sour diesel x OG Kush and Hindu Cush 5 plants of each which equals 10 plants. I have a 250w HPS right now but im about to buy another 250w HPS tommorow...so it'll be 500watts of HPS light....i'll be getting soil from Home Depot, should i get 10 jiffy pea pots, or ten 3 gallon pots? Also is 10 plants under 500w of HPS light a lot, too much, still room?. Also I have a timer for the lights..Do i need to get any plant food or anything else. Im pretty baked right now so excuse if i mispeellee anything or sumfin like that.

I have no CFLs and i was concerned about HPS during Veg. stage i heard it doesn't make their root system strong. what you guys think?

Are the peat pot 3 gal.? Are you trying to avoid transplanting? I'm not understanding what your thought is in reference to size. Thanks, HH

unless your doing a s.o.g type grow Id say 10 plants is to much for 500 watts. If it's 10 seeds you should be ok cause the males u gotta take out. I would take 4 clones and do a scrog grow into some chicken wire like 5'X5' but hey thats me lol

I heard of a Sog of green, barrel of green, and a bunch of other different methods. What method is the most effiecient with my 500watts of HPS light. and i'll probly have 8 plants unless i can do more by SoG. Also What size/kind pots should i use to start off with and then move up to. Should i just get 3 of 4 gallon pots for them or...??

your growing from seed i will assume..so your gonna have males or weak plants..grow an clone then go with a sog or scrog method...peace gb1

its really not the root system that lags its the stem elongation that hps has in veg..get some enhanced spec bulbs an you should be golden...peace gb1

another question. What is the best growing method to Yield VERY high and still be very potent in the least amount of time? SoG? SCroG?....etc?

it doesnt matter what size pots in the begginning man just use your common sense, dont get so technical, growin weed isnt rocket science! The best way to get high yeild is with a scrog or s.o.g so try it out. I would grow your 8 plants, sex them then use like 4 females for a scrog. 500 watts would be perfect for a 4 plant scrog and id imagine your yeild would be pretty damn good. So I think you should do a scrog and keep us updated on how its looking. Ive seen people get like 6-16 oz's off 2 250's. Also the hps is fine for vegging not as good as mh but hey it will work fine so I wouldn't worry about getting a mh unless you have the extra funds. Hope this helps peace

you can use MH bulbs in your 250watt and vice versa.

start your seedlings under floros. i would use the napkin method then into keg cups of good soil after. 2ft t8 or t12 will be fine, and cost afective. once roots have gatherd move up pot size to atleast a gallon. after a couple of weeks you should be able to take a cutting from each (label) and the clones can be rooted with your mothers under the floros. during this process, get your flower area ready with your 250's. once clones have rooted and xplanted to at least 1 gallon pots, move them to be flowerd. you should have atleast a 3x3 or 4x4 area. after a week or two you should be able to determine the mothers sex and can take out the males or move them for collecting pollen. once the mothers are selected i would start cloning. sog would be your best bet in pots no bigger then 1gallon for the duration of the clones life.

you will need veg and bloom formulas. something high in nitrogen and something high in phosphorus. happy growing

here is my vid of some plants grown full cycle under hps light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjbLYNePQGA i use the osram hps lights because they have a touch more blue light in the spectrum, i find them to be the best all around light, but back to your question....the size of your grow space will determine how many plants you can put in there, i would suggest 2-3 gallon pots and flower them as soon as they show preflowers
