You'd have to find a hydro shop in your area. Most Home Depot's don't have the right lights, but if you gonna go w/ CFLs the more the merrier. I'd highly suggest an HID. Most ppl start off vegging on CFLs, but move over to an HPS. If you wanna do a whole grow on CFLs read up on it. Many ppl have done it w/ beastly results. Just gotta hunt down there grow journals. That would be the best way to answer all your questions. READ READ READ! : ) GL Man

BTW I find that most hydro shops are overpriced when it comes to lighting. Really the internet is the best option including the shipping.

HIDs are the Metal Halide/High Pressure Sodium that you are asking about, it stands for High Intensity Discharge. They put out ALOT more light than your standard light bulb. I would save up and buy the MH/HPS setup, I paid $205 for mine shippend and it came with everything. Both MH and HPS bulbs, Ballast, Reflector, and a free timer. if you are wanting to go the cheap way stick with what you have now

I've tried the tubes, and I honestly hate them. I've used CFLs, well not for a whole grow, but they are ok for vegging. I've heard plenty of ppl grow from seed to bud w/ CFLs. You'd be ok w/ your CFLs for the first month. After that you'd probably want to buy a couple more. CFLs are probably vastly underrated, but I don't think they can beat a good HID (Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium). I wouldn't reccomend any lighting other than CFLs or HIDs. Stay away from those Halogens, and other things like Mercury Vapor. Btw Incandescent are horrible ;-)

btw it would only be beneficial to read up on lighting. It is a very important topic on growing dank. So do some research. No offense what so ever, but it seems like you need to do your homework. Peace Take care man

The Lowes here has metal halide and high pressure sodium bulbs in 150, 250 and 400 watts. They also carry 2-ft. and 4-ft. T5's, but not in the high output.

You can probably go to their site and order them online, but if you're going to do that you might as well go to a hydro supply store online and get the whole setup including ballast.
