Hey guys been a while since ive made a post.

Im trying DWC for the first time and this is happening to my roots near the mesh pot.

Bout a month into veg, strain is HSO Sour blue under 400w mH avg temp about 81 degrees.

Only feeding Veg Nutes and Liquid karma, rest of the root base is healthy and thriving

light is getting in to the root area inside your container and that is letting alge grow on the roots......must use opaque buckets......shine a flashlight at the bucket wall if you can see ANY light getting through - find another container/bucket that does not! That go's for the tops too!

Black buckets work
Lowe's silver buckets work

I had to switch yellow, green and Menards buckets for those above.

If it's from the tops, cut a cardboard circle bigger then the bucket lid. Cut/drill or "make" a hole in the center of the cut out and cut a line from edge to center hole. Place on plant covering bucket top with stem in the center hole. This a temp fix till you can find the right top.

If this go's unchecked the alge will start to grow on the bucket walls and increase the coverage on the roots.
Once you put them in a "light free" container the problem will simple die off and not return

good luck
