HELP. All of the sudden I have stank in the air. Filter? HELP

I have a 4 x 4 x 5.5' tall box built completely solid with no light or air leaks. I'm a carpenter so I know this box is very well built.

I have had these 2 great, stinky females in veg for about 1 and a half months. I added 18 Lemon Haze seedlings (about a month old now)which are in 2.6 gallon pots (originally party cups) and the entire ground is covered now. The seeds were not femenized so I'm hopeing on at least 9 females out of the 18 starts. Back to my question: When I have been opening the door, any time I do, there has been a rush of stinky air and I have not smelled the air coming from the exaust before. It's only been when I open the door that any smell is noticed. All of the sudden, starting 2 days ago, I got a strong smell of fresh green herb coming from the filter. When I bought the Carbon filter it was a set of the filter and a nice, powerful 4" inline centrifuge fan for exaust, basically a scrubber set up.

The Questions:

1.) Do the filters stop working after a month or so and need to be replaced or is the filter that I have just a poorly made filter that just sucks?

2.) What Carbon filter is the best one to go with?

3.) Do the carbon filters, even the real good ones, take out most all the smell?

4.) What is the best line to run for the exaust and inlet? (I am using 4" aluminum stretch hose for something you would use for a clothes dryer). I wonder if the best is the insulated so that it cant be easily breached or poked, maybe it will last longer and be more effective?

5.) I have to get this smell under control. I am moveing to a new place this week and cant have my room smelling so strong. A light smell is ok but not a fresh, strong smell. Please help. Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated.

1. Filters are usually rated for 12 months.
2. coal based carbon not plant carbon
3 Yes. 99.5% of odors
4. I don't see many people using insulated ones, just gotta be careful i suppose

Perhaps you got a faulty filter, maybe it was cheap in the first place. but it sounds like you'll need a replacement
