no, your not using halogen? are you really? change your light! that would be the first thing i would do..... dont double your nutes! trying to kill it? it doesnt make it 20,20,20. it doubles your ppm.

now read alot...learn how to grow and you'll be successful .

Those lights are terrible to grow weed with!

Bro, please read the FAQs section and the newbie forum posts, it will increase your growing knowledge. Everyone must start somewhere!

Yes!!!!listen to the advice and I would hit those plants with straight water to flush out the double nutes u added u might have burned them or caused nute lockout

As recommeneded in previous replys, read over the Forums... I'm new to the site and somewhat new to the whole growing process... Nutrients are not required when in the veg. state, let alone doubling them..

You can get a 1 foot plant in 9 weeks, but it's probably not going to yield very much, and depending on the strain, it may not be very potent.. From my previous knowledge and reading this forum, patience is the one thing that is very much needed when growing marijuana.. The longer you let the bud veg (while taking good care of it), and the longer you flower, dry, and cure it (white taking good care of it), the better quality yield you're going to receive..

You're lighting does seem to be a bit questionable... I'm using 2 40w flouresent 4' bulbs in a 4' shop light style fixture to veg.. 3-6 plants.. That alone is plenty to veg 1 plant for your pesonal use.. The fixture is only around $10 and the bulbs are like $2-$5 a pieces, depending on where you shop.. The fixture comes with a short chain, but you can buy some extra chain to hang it up from either the ceiling or if you're growing in a closet, hang it from the hanger line whatever... Adjust the chain links as the plant grows (you can keep it like 1-2 inches from the plant, a flouresent bulb isn't very hot..)..

After 3-4 weeks of veg, you should probably switch to a smaller HPS bulb (read forum post for more details)... For one plant, a 150-300 watt HPS bulb would probably do the trick, if not less.. I'm not an expert, but if you Veg for 3-4 weeks under 2 flouresent 40w bulbs and then flower for 3-4 weeks under a 200 watt HPS while giving it the sufficient nutrients, water, light, etc.... You should end up yielding a good ammount and a good quality smoke..

Good Luck 2 ya..

Love the tags on this, "noob grow". I agree with everything these dudes are saying. READ A GUIDE! currently there's nothing RIU members can help you with that isn't listed in the guides. Watch "Ready, Set, Grow" for an overview if you're not down for a ton of reading. its on youtube.

Additionally, clay pots should be a no-no. They absorb too much heat and can cook roots/seedlings if the temp in your growspace spikes too much.

go to wal mart or homer depot and get some 26w or 42w (which of course is better) flo bulbs. get a cheap hood lamp with the clamp for like 6$ and a splitter for two bulbs. 1-4 inches from the plant. no nutes right now. when in the young veg stage i do a 20/4 light schedule. but you can 24 for a little and even 18/6. ditch the foil too, white paper works just as well.

I love this site thanks i've just looked at some guys using a compact florescent lights 105w and 125w...but that flo bulbs sounds good too...i've just tryed cleaning the soil by running water in it so i can rid it of the bad NUTES....i took the plaint out the pot and put it in a pepsi bottle for now and did start to burn but im not sure if its from the nutes or from the light i had is there a color difference or pattern..

when their younger it's a little more hairy because it doesn't take much to toast a youngin. just keep the flo bulbs close and keep an eye on it. make sure it's getting fresh air and water is it's best friend for the next week and some. it's a matter of yhe plant fixing itself after getting a "shock treatment" haha.

make sure your pepsi bottle has drainage (hole in the bottom just incase you water too much), but at that size a spray bottle is probably best, and i would get rid of the foil (increases heat) get mylar or white reflective plastic, perhaps look at getting a safer box! and if your roots grow make sure the bottom of the bottle is covered so you are not getting light to the roots. good luck - grow strong

alright, i was just as lost as you when i began 2 months ago

i'll give you a crash course so you can grow 1 plant, with relative success...

in that box (sort of like mine) get the following (i'm breaking it down by store and everything,):

Walmart:

3 clamp lights - 5 bux a piece (they're the cheap kind but you need to get going)
1 two pack 42 watt soft white CFL.
1 Four Pack 26 watt Soft White CFL (not more 42 watt because they clank into each other
1 Four pack 26 watt Daylight CFL.
1 elmers spray glue
1 2 dollar plastic planter, or bigger if you wish...
2 emergency blankets
for ventilation you can use PC fans, or i just bought a 9 inch fan at walmart, they are like 6-8 bux, it's overkill for a box, but i had trouble finding the DC converter for the PC fans, so i just got that one.....

From Home Depot:

3 y-splitters, turns one socket into two.

3 exdendors

Get back to your house, close the top of your box by creating a dome (adds like 4-5 inches to the top, and best way to put the 9 inch fan on, if that's what you use). if you just want to close the box and leave it square thats fine too for now... remember tomake a 4-5 inch hole at the top if you don't have a fan for passive ventilation. Also make some holes on the bottom-sides of the box for passive ventilation (heat rises out the top, cold enters through the bottom holes).

line the interior of the box with the blankets, using the spray glue, be careful to get it as flat as possible.

now, for the lights:

put one extendor in the clamp light, then the y socket, then: like this

clamp light 1: 1 42 watt soft white, 1 26 watt daylight.
Clamp light 2: same as clamp light 1.
Clamp light 3: 2 26 watt daylights.

Install these on the sides of your box as high as possible.

this is for veg:

light cycle is: 18 hours on 6 off. make sure you seal the box for light leaks, if you cannot, then put the plants somewhere completely dark for the dark period.

for flowering switch all but one daylight bulb for a the softwhite 26 watters.... and switch the lighting to 12 hours on 12 hours off...

good luck

you can use the MG all purpose plant food for veg. just ease them into it. anyways the plant food used for veg should be higher in N, when in flower have be higher in P....

and when watering, if you are using tap water it is probable it is alkaline. Adjust the PH by filling up a gallon with water, then lightly wet the tip of your finger with some vinegar, and put it through the top of the gallon into the water (it should be less than a drop of vinegar that goes into the water). That will make the water slightly acidic, which mj plants like. If you put drops into the water it will be too much, it has to be just a tiny bit of vinegar. Get the Ph testing drops from a local hydro shop, they're a good 10 dollar investment....
