Help a grower out +rep

So i'm growing a male for the pollen that i will spread on a female for the seeds, i read the help thread and it showed me how but never showed me what tyhe sacks will look like when they are ready

so i guess my question is this:

How will i know when the male pollen sacks are mature enough to cut to use thier pollen?

You can get a white computer paper and put the paper under the pollen branch and shake it It will fall out onto the paper.
If you take unriped sacks it will turn black and rot and be not usable. So just wait till u see soe opening and get a paper or something and shake the branch.

Stay AWAY from females.

I want to TRY (if possible) to keep the air born pollen to minimum, i was thinking at some point i could cut them off, put them in a jar, crush them and use a small paintbrush to spread the pollen on the females, do you think i should wait till they open to cut them? would there be alot of pollen in the air? +rep for you

k, so i will wait till they open before taking them if other wise they will be unuseable. I have them in a closet by them selves with the females being in another room, but i am fearful of pollen gettin on them via me, so i will make sure to wash hands and wear different cloths in that room.
 
I would move him into another room if your worried about airbourne pollen

but best is to put a big baggie over the branches loosely once they start to hang and let the bag collect the pollen then use a small (new) paint brush to lightly apply to your girl (pollenating one bud can give you lots of seeds)

you also then gotta let the seeds mature or your wasteing your time, pretty much gotta let her die naturally

it's in another room's closet, but i still fear of pollen, so near qurintine levels here, lol. Will the bag kill the branch? should i put a bag over each chute? How long will seeds take to mature? 8 weeks like a bud? thanks man!!
 
Just wait till the sacks open up, cut some off and then you can save them for whenever you want to pollinate, rather than just shaking the pollen out off of the plant.
 
Yeah the seeds will basicly take the same amount of time of the corresponding female strain, let them dry, then store them for later.

So don't have a fan on it, kill your ventalation, when the balls start to hang put a bag over all the stems gallon ziplock type bag when they open grab the open end of the bag around the stem and shake it till you get pollen.

Like I said pretty much need to let her die, but say you only paint one bud you can harvest all the rest when they are done and let the pollenated one die off

doubt if 8 weeks is long enough, hell I just did a harvest that went 10 weeks, but could take up to 12 or 14, point is if the seeds do not mature they will be useless

why do that just cover the sacks you want to harvest pollen from with a baggie. then tap to harvest. make sure all fans are off. then repeat on other branches till done.
 
all the females i will be doing a seed grow with are not located in the same house as my flower and veg room., so once i get the pollen the accual seed grow will be in a aerogarden elsewhere, thats why i wanted to get a bunch of pollen, polleninate the females then get rid of this male, thats why i was wondering when i could extract pollen

also i dont have a fanm on this plant as i was just tryin to do a quick pollen extract

i think this is what i will do, when they look like thier opening i will pout a ziplock around it and shakle off pollen, then i will take a new brush dab it in the bag of pollen and paint the three females i will be seeding, thank you everyone, let me know if this is best plan of attack
