You can get a mother in a lot of different ways. Usually you separate the best female from your crop, either before it buds (if you have clones from somebody and know it wont be a male), or after the crop when you see which plant produced the most and the best. Mother plants, one you have yours picked, need to go into the veg cycle and stay in it so they constantly are producing more and more foliage to be used as cuttings/clones. The beauty of these clones is that they are exact genetic copies of your mother so you can anticipate how your crop is going to act/react to what you're doing and you know you'll have a room full of girls.
