Hello All,

Been visiting this site for a long while now, so its time to jump in.

I have been going through all of the fantastic information on this site to date and have decided to have a go. That and paying top dollar for gear in Oz that can range from very good quality to very, very bad quality has got to me so I'm starting myself.

I have a number of questions regarding my future set up that I would like to run past you guys, specifically with temperature control (I live in a bloody hot part of Oz) and lighting, so whats the best way to around that? Do I just fire off one post with all my questions or individual posts with one question?

Look forward to chatting with you lot.

Cheers

Hey All,

I posted a number of questions on Indoor Growing forum... See where that gets me.

I agree, from what I have read thus far this is a great site for information... To be honest, in my naivety, I didn't think there would be that many dedicated souls out there helping people get along in this beautiful process. Can't wait to get the funds to get going on my wardrobe.

Where do I live... Mate I'm in Far North Queensland, where the pot is as illegal as rooting a kangaroo in the main street, where the pot is rediculously expensive, (rather isolated from good supplies), it is questionable quality (some is just down right terrible) and where I live it is fucking hot all year round (which is why I am asking about portable air conditioners on the other forum)... summer can get up to mid 40 degrees at 80% humidity and 'winter' normally gets as 'low' as maybe 10 degrees at night... make no mistake about we are a tropical people up here.

So there you have it, any advice on cooling would be great... I understand the principal of fresh air circulation but where I am going to have my wardrobe is in my garage and I fear that I can expel hot air successfully but I'm concerned about (over time) heating the garage and sucking in hot air (remember also that my garage is always bloody hot to begin with) to the grow area... hence the questions on portable air conditioning options.

Anyway, must get back into it, thanks for saying high and I will chat to you later

Cheers

woohooo another from cairns, i am near tafe, i have succesfuly grown outdoors here, with very little probs, i have also grown just west of Ravenshole, (locals now why i put the extra L in where it doesnt belong lol) i have found growing up here now is the best time to plant seeds if growing outdoors, have plants in a greenhouse till bout 2 months old to keep safe from those very odd cold nights we have which have been few and far between on the coast but i know it is different up in the hills, again locals will know wat i am talking about, my babies are bout month old now, i plan on leaving them in the ground, yes thats right i grow mine in the ground until next june or july, this way i dont force the plant to mature when it is not needed so when it it finally does mature you have a bigger and stronger plant and one would also expect to yield bigger crop, my last plant grown in the ground in cairns yielded 4 1/2 pound, most of my m8s that smoke hydro i managed to fool cause the bud quality was superb
