Please help me identify if this is indeed the beginning of my beautiful cola being taken over by bud rot!!! Help please!!! The first pics are of the main cola which now I understand that you should top your plant because of this then I have a few extras showing other parts of the plant. One more thing I have some Jerusalem artichokes and was wondering if I harvest them at the right time Oct 1 south east usa. Thanks for the help and I am sure this is Wedding Cake plant.

I’m growing outdoors in the SE too. I’ve had a problem with rot since around mid September probably due to the rain and cool temps. That kinda looks like bud rot to me. Tug on a sugar leaf where you think you see rot. If it comes out with no resistance it’s most likely rotten.

Yes we had a cold front then warm and now back to maybe a freeze warning in the mountains this weekend! Crazy weather with the crazy times we live in brother. I will check my leaf but you see that one big one is yellow half way up the cola. I really dont want to chop my damn cola off but I guess I might have to. I know to use peroxide spray 3% after cutting if I have to but man this is making me sad.
