Hello there, I’m basically new with growing, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me some useful information? the only place I can grow would be in the attic. This is kind of a hassle to get into, because i would need a latter. It’s the type of attic only used for.... nothing. Maybe storage. Would it get too hot in there? Or would the installation mess things up? I live in a rather large house in the heart of suburbia. So if anyone could respond if it’s a good idea or not, or give any ideas of a good set up for growing in the attic, that would be great!

Several issues arise in a attic grow. Do you have good ventation (odours) how about electric and water. Are you going to grow in soil or hydro? Are there any light leaks? These are just a few problems that come to mind but you will have to address them before you get your plants growing.

Good luck with your grow!

well i only need a few plants for my own personal usage. my only problems are lighting (how much light i need?), and getting up there (there are no stairs) so i would only be able to check on the plants like twice a week. supriseingly there is an electrical outlet up there, there really is no windows up there, only small light or ventilation holes, they dont let any light in though. Im a little worried about winter coming and hopes in dosnt get too cold up there.

When you suffer cold winters you will maybe need to heat the grow space while the lights are off. I live in England and we have to use a tiny fan-heater during the night so the temp's don't drop too low. You'll want to check your plants everyday, if anything goes wrong it is best to catch it early. Why only twice a week, do you need to borrow a ladder or something?

no, i just would need to carry it up a flights of stairs everyday, unless i can get like a folding or rope latter or somthing.

I am pondering growing in my attic.

I have no referrences to how to do it, so my guess is to, insulate it very well, add ventilation from room below, vent out air to a roof vent or attic space. I intend on providing electricity and water. I was thinking of using pots w/soil to grow from clones, and a separate space for keeping the next batch of clones.

I read and understand the issues of cold weather, however, I am in an area that can get pretty hot during the summer.

Do I sound like I am on the right track, and/or do you have any tips for me?

Thanks,

Python
