I found a seedling tray like they use in greenhouses should allow plenty of air underneath, upside down with pot on top pretty saggy in the middle lol.

Well I did it broke a few roots I’m sure she will bounce back stronger than ever, was probably more painful for me than her. Was nice to see she had so many healthy roots already, wish I had known these pots were so cheap I would have started her in one.

Figured out watching videos that a 3 gal pot fits 3 gal of soil not water, reason for the size difference I always thought that was weird lol.

How do these pots show runoff, or do you not water till runoff? Drip out the bottom or you just feel for dampness?

Forgive the weird colors she isn’t all yellow that’s the two flowering bulbs I added yesterday gives her a brown look in person. I couldn’t afford to buy another pack of veg bulbs, so long as she is healthy I’m going to flip her no later than 30 days from breaking ground.

You can get what I use megacrop. 1 part. That's it. Sample pack. 300 grams. Max dose is 5 dry grams per gallon. It works amazing. And it's free. Designed specifically for mj. I've used it for almost 2 years. Look up greenleaf nutrients. You start off using 1/4 strength. Then half then 3/4 then full in flower. 300 gram sample pack will last almost two grows. Small pot like that. You can get two feedings out of 1 gallon. So it lasts.
I converted to Megacrop and haven't looked back!

Maybe one day she'll come around with it being legal, my wife when we first met was a stickler and now she takes a toke every night before bed lol. And seems to be more excited than me about the plants when we check on them and water.

Glad to hear that Nate! Mine is the opposite, was cool with it until we had kids. Maybe one day when the kids are grown up and moved out... seeing as how she flushed my stash while pregnant with our first I’m not letting on anytime soon that I still smoke

Chalk that up to pregnancy hormones lol. Maybe when the kids are at grandma's or something get a few drinks in her and maybe she'll partake in a toke . good luck on the stealth in the meantime :p.

Day 20

Humidity has been holding at 60-70%, temps are staying between 68-77 degrees. Added two more bulbs yesterday, kind of need her to get taller to add more. Trying to get the right mix of lights shining from the top and sides has been more difficult than I imagined it, imagine that...

Been 2 days since transplant she didn’t droop as much as I thought she would.

One of these options may help with better light spread. I've been getting interested in the vertical one lately trying to think of a better way to use my 4x2 next run lol.

Thanks bud, I’m trying to do vertical starting to think scrog would be easier long term.
I never liked messing with plants much topping ect. Everything would be so much easier if my room were bigger or at least square, small partition of my attic is 40” wide 11 foot long with too much shit crammed in there lol. I’m hoping I don’t ever need a dehumidifier not sure where I’d put it or if the breaker can handle it...

I like the splitters, I have some 2 way splitters from hd, haven’t seen any others than that. Was also considering a couple 3 bulb bathroom vanity type fixtures with splitters but couldn’t find any used on the marketplace so I ended up making my own hoods.

I have one of those tall floor lamps with 3 bulbs that’s been in storage for awhile, I could probably take the guts out pretty easily so it’s just a cord and sockets and hang them from the top, thanks for the idea!

Hey man I spent some time reading through your journal and I just wanted to put my 2 cents in because I think what I have to say is helpful.

Happy roots = happy fruits, in your case since your plant is in veg that would mean happy leaves. Unfortunately that's not the case. The plant is starving for food. The plant depleted the available nutrients it needed about 2 weeks ago by the looks of it.

The remedy to this is to begin feeding the plant the macro and micro nutrients it needs. If you want to take it a step further, you can intrude beneficial microbes to your soil which will make your plant a lot happier.

Solution = Buy nutrients (megacrop, jacks 321, dyna grow foliage pro) pick one. Buy an 8 oz container of recharge (search amazon). Total cost $50 or so.

Now you can begin feeding your soil, growing that rootzone out, and watch that plant recover and grow big and healthy.

Have you planned on what you're going to do when it starts to reek when you flower it?

Thanks for your input, I did give it a 1/4 dose of nutes I think on Monday with a half strength dose of big bloom which is supposed to be a micro supplement but the only micro listed is iron I believe. I transplanted it 2 days ago and added some fresh soil that has some nutes in it, wasn’t really sure when to feed her again was going to give the roots a few days to heal.

I was real cautious about adding anything as I literally had people on a different thread screaming not to add nutes yet when I mentioned adding the big bloom a few weeks back. https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-time-using-cfls-opinions-desired.983794/
Anyhow I will probably feed it tomorrow I think she will need a drink again and see if that perks her up.

As for the smell the room already reeks, it is lined with plastic and mostly sealed up. It’s the middle of winter, there is seriously less than a 10% chance my wife will go out to the shed if she does and smells something funky I can blame it on a skunk as we have some around here. also my neighbor has friends over that smokes and we can smell it sometimes so I’m pretty confident I’m safe for now lol. I did put a pack of deodorized damp rid in the attic outside my room that is all I can smell until I get into the room. So basically I really have no idea what I’m going to do other than buy a shit ton of lemon grass oil to spray everything in the shed but my room. I could easily vent it and add carbon filters but that would be noticeable outside the shed and being the middle of winter I really don’t want to deal with that.

Sounds like a fun diy lol. Make sure to check the socket wattage . my lamp had a 13w max .
