Heat stress?

i am using a hydroponic drip system and had the lights too close to them for a day, so some leaves developed brown spots.

i have moved the light away now but some people advise to give them 24 hours of darkness to recover.

i am in my second week of vegging, should i give them darkness to recover? if so, how many hours?

thanks

I would not do the 24 hours darkness, wouldn't that encourage it to flower?. You can switch em' to 20-4 or 18-6 but I would then keep them on that time because messing with the light and dark times will stress the plant further.

thanks i raised the light as high as possible and turned it back on,
people on this website have also recommended having 1 hour off if using a 1000watt bulb, is this advisable and for what reasons?
