Heat Reduction going from open bulb to enclosed vented hood?

I currently have a cheep 400 watt open bulb hid with the adjustable wings.

Looking at getting a vented glass sealed hood for same bulb.

Using an active fan for the hood, could I realistically a 10F drop in temp? better/worse?

Thanks

Fuck yes you can, just dont recycle the hot air whatever you do and your golden. Pull cold air in or push hot air out through a window whatever works. Im at 82f with 1kw but without the glass i hit 90+ and if the ventilation shuts off i soar in the 100's lol

I literally just purchased two of these... one Ipower one apollo horticulture and they should be in next week or the week after... dealing with muggy 90+ days and no a/c at the moment either... I've hit just over 95 twice... usually about 85-90 average temp.
I'll let you know how it turns out! I'm just running a 600w hps at the moment with like three standing fans, two 6" inline fans (one air in one air out).

Whats the ambient temp outside the room?

Room temp is about 75-80, they are in a 5x5x7 tent. Outside Temps are usually daytime highs of 75-90 and night like 55-65
Ok it will never go as low as ambient temps but a sealed hood will help ALOT. Pulling air from outside also helps

I would be hella happy with steady 80-85 ... I'm tossing in an a/c unit too when my new bubbleponics moves into the tent. Can't be going over 80 on that!
*Oh and the two inline fans are hooked to outside, one in one out
** I even run it during the night time Temps! ... I think that hood will be huge

Well using a can max 700 fan for exhaust and using a 300 fan for intake that is connected to my central air, currently it won't hit higher then 85 with the ac off and the fan pulling the ambient air through the house.

It the closest step I can do without dumping more money and electric on a stand-alone ac unit.

But if that hood can keep my Temps below 80F, then I would be very satified.

My on going struggle is with airy buds, due to heat spikes.
