heat from 400w

If the ambient temp is within range, but directly under the light isn't the solution would be - additional room circulation, correct?

Also, are temp probes off when directly under the light. Mines saying 95 but it sure don't feel 95...?

I just checked, the temp of the air leaving the room is 76F but 16inches under the bulb it gets up to 95, or both my meters say...

I'm google-ing and it's saying that - to measure the airs actual temperature with glass or plastic probes they have to be shaded.

How do I accurately read the temperature under the light?

Turn the light off for a few seconds, let the air mix up, measure the ambient temperature, then turn them back on. This will ensure you aren't measuring the heat emitted from the bulb, but how that heat is affecting your ambient temperature.

i have my probe under a few fan leaves on my tallest cola, it seems acurate as if its right in the light it obsorbs the light energy too increasing the heat giving an inacurate reading. i agree with the shade idea but if yo use virulient's way be shur to give your ballast enough time to cool before trying to flip it on again.

been moving the fans around and trying to get it right...

i moved the carbon can to RIGHT above the reflector...and it seems to be helping a lot.

wow the 400w puts out some heat

81.5 room constant, 83.4 at plant shaded probe.... is that ok?

I achieved this by hanging a cold water towel. Can I freeze a 2 liter bottle or something ?

The towel drops the overall temp from about 84.

Your gonna start adding extra humidity with water in the grow room, jus something to think about ....81 isnt a real bad temp, some guys grow there best buds under 80-85 . Try adding an extra fan, or even moving the fan you have around might make a diff with airflow...jus fuck around with it till you find a sweet spot

My humidity is too low to begin with 30-35%, but i imagine that would change as my plants get big. I struggle to keep it around 50%
