Hi guys!!
So as I said... healthy plants... day 20 of flowering but my run off is over 2000 ppm!!!
2 plants in 4 gal with coco...i use advanced nutrients sensi coco line with addictives...i water every day at 1350 ppm with 20% runoff,I never let my coco to dry.i have no issues.today I measure my runoff it was at 2200 ppm...
Should I make a good flush with small dose of nutrients?is my ppm meter for the rubbish?

Hello akaki.

Yeah, it is a concern.
If you can get an ec reading it'll be better.

But whatever your feeding dont change it. Plants look great.
Id just work on lowering the ec / ppms of your waste runoff.
A few lighter feeds, is all you need i think. Until whats coming out. Is matching whats going in.
It'll come down. Even if it takes several days.
Check the ph, of the waste too. It may be a little low as well.
Its just a tiny bit of buildup imo.
No big deal at all.

Maybe cut back ppm a little when you resume normal feeding?
May have just been getting slightly over nourished.

Fabulous looking plants akaki.

Good luck.

Have you recently calibrated your meter?
To be honest I didn't calibrate my meter...i know that 1 ml sensi coco a+b per litter is 300 ppm plus my ro water is 23ppm so it should give me around 323 ppm...is it to right way to calibrate?

I don't know the brand you're using but usually there are calibration solutions. Powders you mix with RO water. Test the solution and adjust the meter accordingly. If it is adjustable

Eeeek! This is a tough question to answer because your plants truly look very healthy. I'm not sure tweaking things will be worth it in the long run. But one (safe) thing you can do is a plain watering w/o nutrients every once in a while, I.E. every 4th watering or so....

But the plants look great, keep on keeping on my friend!

Yes.
All very gentle like.
I love coir.
Those ppm WILL become a problem. Just give it a week, and you'll see.

If your meter is new it's gotta be fine.

FYI EVERYONE.
You feed coir according to your waste.

It's a DTW garden.
No different than perlite.
GO BY YOUR WASTE.
Period.
That's it.

All gentle like akaki.
Just lower your feeds.
Read your waste.
Waste readings.

You havnt been exchanging the cations enough in your pot.
You need more runoff waste, every feeding.

To put it simply.
The roots are sitting in 2000ppm of nutrient solution.
It's been building up over time.

Go by your waste.
That's all.

Take a few days to get it down.
Otherwise your coir is about to open Pandora's box. For real.

Sorry for the rant.
Can't express how important reading your waste with coir is.
It's the MOST important habit for coco.
For exactly the reason you have discovered.

:peace:

Again sorry OP.
I'll post a link.
Get that waste down.
No flush.
Plants are healthy.
But cut those feeds back.
Watch your waste.
I can't express this enough.

Tim.

Thanks man!!Your knowledge...help a lot to understand the issue I have... This article tells exactly the issue I have...i don't want to waste my crop for sure...if I use ro water to lower my runoff readings and then use my nutrient solution...should be ok?otherwise I have to waste a big amount of nutrients...
Glad it helps man!

Yeah.
Say feeds of 400ppm or so.
Work on getting that waste down.

Plain water isnt all that great.
I only really do it, when i just want to top off a little.
Like if after a feed, my waste is slightly high. Ill just give the plant water to bring it back down a tiny bit.
But i only do this if its only a few hundred ppms.

Your plants are really healthy.
Id just bring it down nice and slowly over a few feeds.
Wait until your waste has the ppm you desire. Then just feed as normal.

When you resume regular feeds, just make sure your waste is reading the same.

Really isnt a big problem man.
Your plants look great.

Happy harvest man.
Thanks akaki.

So after 2 feedings with low ppm solution my run off is about 1600ppm.so everything is goes fine...but I find out that I made a silly mistake with my run off readings...i was measuring the hole run off..today I take samples from first 100ml it was 1850ppm.after a while I take a new sample and it was at 1600ppm. Yesterday I was I bit worried I couldn't drop it under 2000ppm but I was measuring all the runoff...my plant are at least happy as they was before 2 days maybe even better...i find a bit more greenish....20180619_211417.jpg
The dinachem can't stop growing...im getting so excited is by far the grow ever had...

Akaki,
Hey dude...just admiring your grow. Lush...well done.

I just wanted to ask a question about your light system. Those bars with 4 bulbs in them. Who makes them, type of bulb. Help would be appreciated since I'm setting up new room.

Thanks man!!to be honest I'm better diyer than grower but I'm learning...
This bars are diy...i made them my self the led are cree cxb3590 3500k 80cri each bar need an led driver meanwell hlg-240H-c1750a and for the cooling of led lights i use passive heatsink.pin fin heatsinks 150mm.and I just went to a diy store and I buy L angle aluminium to mount them...each bar can run from 135w up to 240 w i run them at 200w right now...the led the drivers and the heatsinks I order them from Alibaba kingbrite led.the only store I trust from Ali...i made them 2 years ago...now thinks with led are getting even better...instead of this huge led cobs..they are using quantum boards small led's in pcd board they can distribute the light even better.if you want to make yourself you will do it with less money but there are now many sites to order them as a set led,drivers,heatsinks,connectors....if you are leaving in us you will pay even less money...i pay 150euros just for shipping but I order 16 Led's....of course in the led and other lighting section of this forum will find many info about stores....or how you can do it your self...

Akaki,
Hey thanks for the info man. You did a sweet job on that DIY project. Your growing will catch up too. Just takes time.

Thanks for educating me on LEDs and good luck with your high ppm rootzone issue. The plants look great...
