Few months ago i came across what i was told to be headband. The guy i got it from use to get his stuff from NorCal not sure excatly where in Nor Cal tho. It was a very strong smelling bud and it looked like the Headband that i have seen on RIU and other sites. It made u fill like u had a headband on too tight!!! It wasnt as strong as i had heard it to be but that could of been because it had a few seeds in it. out of a Zip i got about 20 seeds. so now i have them half way grown and about 3 wks into flower. i seen that there is so many different kinds of Headband and im wondering which one i might have. But the biggest thing i wanted to ask is, is it possible for my headband to be more potent then the buds i took the seeds out of? if i successfully pull off a sensimilla grow. i guess what im asking is, would bud with no seed be more potent then bud with seed of the same strain?

All other things being equal, unseeded will always be better. Will your pot be better than the pot the seeds came from just because it has no seeds? No.
You don't know what it was that pollinated it. It's a crap shoot. It could end up being some insane shit, or it could suck. Unknown genetics.
And then there's how you grow it and how you cure it. It could be some fairly crappy genetics that you could turn into some really good smoke with proper care, or it could be some ripper shit that you end up fucking up.
I guess that what I'm trying to say here is that you won't know until you grow it out.

Part of the problem with most different types of headband are the genetics...Headband, Chemdawgs, OG Kushs', Diesels, they all have hermaphroditic lineage so in reality a total sinsemilla crop 100% of the time is impossible. I have been working with these types of strains for about two years and they all have tendencies towards self-seeding. Although, my Headband only produced one seed that I have found so far out of 7 plants last rotation, other diesels and Banana Kush especially have done far worse to me. Right now I am focusing exclusively on Headband because it seems to respond very well to my system.
As far as potency goes, the reason why there was even a Chemdawg, then kushs' and diesels was because of self-seeding some exceptional genetics...who knows what you could come up with from those beans.

yea i had 2 of my girls try to hermie on me when i tried to pull some lower branches down with string to let them get more light... when i seen the pollen pods i cut of the pods then released the lower branches from the string and let them stay like they was to start with. since i removed pods and string i havent seen any more pods. but all in all they are looking really good like small christmass trees in 3 weeks of flower some of the white hairs are turning orange and pink but not any smell yet from bud site besides the plant its self

I am in week 4 again with Headband/Original Diesel and the smell is just starting to come on... I love this time...actually I love every step of the process.
i had 2 of my girls hermie big time. i checked on them one day and there they was all at the top of the plant under the flowers.... it really sucks too because they were my biggest plants and all i have now is 3 smaller ladies.... well i hope they will still make some good cannabutter... who knows

Well, I guess spraying plain water helps to sterlize the pollen, or rather to just keep it down so its not flying around the area landing on pistils. I have found that I have to clean my girls up pretty well before week 2 of flower...for some reason its always in the lower foliage that I grow balls.
Sorry to hear that they went all fuckered on you. I would say to just let them finish to their full potential, and take what you can get.
I know that the Headband 707 is really big up there in Norcal, but its a totally different cross from the original headband, not sure off the top of my head but I think its something like master kush x bubba kush x sour diesel whereas the Original Headband/Original Diesel is Mass Super Skunk x Chem 91'. They grow totally differently. 707 is little more compact and doesnt yeild as much, with fatter style indica leaves versus the much more hybrid looking leaves of the Original. but if you got them from seed....who knows?
