All this allows police to do is to verify whether or not you are valid by checking the cards authenticity without disclosing any other personal info, nothing else changed.

The department shall DO ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
(A) VERIFY to law enforcement personnel whether a registry
identification card is valid, without disclosing more information
than is reasonably necessary to verify the authenticity of the
registry identification card.
FOR PURPOSES OF OBTAINING OR EXECUTING A SEARCH WARRANT
ONLY, 1 OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:
VERIFY TO LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL WHETHER AN INDIVIDUAL
RESIDING AT A SPECIFIED ADDRESS HAS BEEN ISSUED A REGISTRY
IDENTIFICATION CARD.

They still have to have probable cause to obtain a search warrant. I find it hard to believe that LEO can just randomly enter peoples homes without cause.

I highly suggest camera surveillance for any grow as I trust no LEO. I know not all are bad but I'll take caution over risk any day of the week when it comes to the safety of a medical grow. It's pretty damn easy to do very cheaply these days. Having been the victim of dirty cops in the past who illegally entered my residence without a warrant and nobody home (ya, I walked in on 3 of them inside my home armed with bullet proof vests). Granted this happened over a decade ago in another state, If I had a camera catch that shit, I'd have ended 3 careers that day because every fucking news station in the country would have my raw footage. When it comes to your word against a cop, it's always the cop they're gonna believe....when it's your word against many cops; you never stood a chance....video on the other hand is always honest.

Yeah I agree with you stow and I also think I stretched t a little in my interpretation. They can check by name for sure, but it looks like they need to have a name with an address to get any info in that regard, not simply an address.

Here's what I think this means. If you get busted for possession, LEO can check with the registry to confirm that you are a valid card holder by name. If there is a report of a smell, or any other suspicion of a grow taking place at your residence, LEO can verify that there is a legitimate medical grow going on by verifying through the registry by address.

the Problem with this... It opens the Act. Even if only for a good and simple pharses to clarify one minor area. but once the Act is open, its open for the whole things. That CAN NOT HAPPEN. Any needed legislation, can ALL be handled TODAY, with SEPERATE legislation. The issue with that, is the (BS and the Prosecution Crew) want to change the Peoples initiative so he can make Citizens Criminals for a personal medical choice...

If the one bill passes (have to see which one) it would allow for WARRENTLESS SEARCHES any time of the day or night, by LEO, Local Inspectors, CPS if you have Children, ect..)

I SHIT YOU NOT, this is what they WILL DO if we do NOT fight these bills.

ANY BILL that changes the current 08 MMM Act, is a Dangerous Bill.

ANY Grey area that is left once the Act is FULLY Implemented, can and will be simply dealt with by simple legislation to clear the minimal things that need to be cleared.

I pretty much feel the same way and when it's looked at from that perspective I see no problems. This is just a hypothetical, but what then would stop a rouge from using this when ever they had "seen, heard, smelled, or were informed" of something that would allow for the phone call to be made. A single person or worse a group of people could do systematic sweeps of entire areas, blocks, subs, towns, cities. It doesn't say anywhere about they shall question anything, it just says they shall disclose upon inquiry.

My problem with that is that there already is a verification process in place is there not? Perhaps if the state could take their fucking hands off the 8 million + dollars they have collected as PROFIT from MMJ registrations @ $100/pop, then perhaps we could afford to hire a few more assholes at the state department to answer the fucking phones when LEO calls to verify a fucking card number. Maybe, just maybe....that's a better idea but who the hell am I?

dammit this state's legislature is such a joke...

I agree Jonny. Hiring a few people to man phones 24/7 seems like a more reasonable solution than turning confidential info of 200,000+ people over to LEO.

If they could just find a way to get photo id's out like the law says, that would be a good start too.
Funny you say that; one of the amendments I saw required "PHOTO'S ON THE ID'S"....I couldn't help but think to myself; doesn't the law already require that which the state has chosen to defy purposely? Anybody else thinking WTF on this? I pay, what...$20 for a state drivers license which arrives in less than 10 business days but I can't pay $100 to the state and expect the same. Something is indeed broken here and it ain't on our side.
