9/29/23 - This is approximately Week #7 of flower. Used a magnifier to look at the buds for the first time and delighted to see the trichomes. Realized that getting good pictures of the trichomes is not as easy as I thought it would be! When that high a magnifier, it's nearly impossible to keep your hand steady to take the pics. Here are a couple of pics – are these trichomes considered clear or cloudy at this point? Any guess as to how much longer before harvest?

Thank you! How much would you suggest watering them?
Maybe 2 gallons , using fabric pots you get run off from the side easy water slow and deep , your nearing the end anyways so a flush one week out wouldn’t be a bad idea , when outside I usually plant in ground I just flood my plants a little over a week out and they droop but the trichs pop, might not work for everyone but for me it does . In pots I usually flush with a hose too outside . Indoor is different, but all my outdoor is all organic , super soil, compost , and dry ferts if needed. Really nice plants bro! Looking forward to the harvest !

Thanks for all the input @Sfpyro420 !

So, if they need at least another couple weeks before harvest, at what point do I start flushing the plants?
I’d flush them for approximately 2 weeks?
Also, Flushing is just watering them w/out any other amendments, right?

Yeah about two weeks out , even a week out , I usually start my flush 10 days out works great for me.

10/5/23 - Watered them 1.5 gallons each w. added Sweet Candy (0-17-28). Trichomes still look clear to me.

10/6/23 - They're not ready to harvest yet, but guessing in the next 2-4 weeks?
But, the weather is quickly cooling off with lots of rain.
It's in the 50's today.
How much do I need to worry about possible negative effects caused by the weather?
I keep hearing about bud rot, etc.
What can I (should I) do to take these two plants across the finish line?

10/9/23 - This is approximately Week #10 of Flower. Added less than 1/3 cup of GeoFlora Bloom to both plants – wanted to finish off the bag. I’m thinking this will probably be the last GeoFlora given before I harvest. Watered them 1.5 gallons each w. added Sweet Candy (0-17-28). Should this be the last Sweet Candy given before I harvest too?

Worried about the possibility of bud rot now that it’s raining more and getting cooler.

10/11/23 - OMG! What is going on with these two plants? Any ideas? Whatever it is, it does not look good!
This looks like more than just Thrips (I'm using SNS-203 to try and get rid of them). Near panic mode...

You my friend might need to chop early in those conditions , as well as looking at that picture that could be bud Rot, not to mention with those wet conditions and humidity you run the risk of mold as well!

Also forsure have thrips , you could use a pm wash when you harvest , I see you have planter boxes with a bunch of mulch and thrips thrive in that kind of environment and in grass and bushes .

10/12/23 - Ok, more questions yet again!

The weather is predicted between low 40s and low 70s. Rainy all weekend.
If it rains on Saturday, should I just bring these in my garage and use whatever light I have in there so that they don’t potentially get more bud rot?

OR

Should I just give up and start harvesting? I can’t really tell from looking at the trichomes. Think they’re still more clear than cloudy. I’d love to give them another couple weeks if possible, but don’t want some disease to wipe the whole thing out before harvest.

As always, any / all advice is Greatly appreciated!!

You're right - Bud Rot! Exactly what I was afraid of with all the cold/wet weather we've had lately. And it was fast. Nothing there the night before. I've cut away all the rot and hope there isn't any more!

Definitely Thrips! I've been spraying w. SNS-203, but it hasn't killed them off yet. Great info about the mulch! Had no idea. Swear I've seen somewhere that you should even use mulch w. your pot plants!

Yeah if you having bud rot in my experience it only gets worse, id chop and dry and cure and hope for the best it spreads fast and those rainy conditions will bring high humidity even in the garage , unfortunately I’d say chop! In the future I’d go with a faster flowering more on the indica side for those kinds of conditions outdoor, indoor just use a dehumidifier. As for thrips I’ve used a 1:3 ratio of peroxide and misted the leaves and everything early through our veg , I’ve also cleared out at least 10 feet each way of grass as that seems to be the breading ground in my area. They say dry mulch won’t attract thrips but if you get them they will live on wood chips if there is a good source near by. If you’re indoor I would use mulch if you’re growing organic , if you’re using chemical and liquid fertilizer I’d stay away from it personally , just preference I don’t have any reason why . You could try to go the full length but now you’re running the risk of loosing more and more .

10/13/23 - Watered them 1.5 gallons each w. added Sweet Candy (0-17-28). Trichomes still look clear to me. Finally found a bug on the bottom of a leaf that I’d cut off. Is this a Thrip? Thought they’d be much smaller.

It’s supposed to pour tomorrow, so moved plants into the garage and put a fan on them.

10/20/23 - 10/21/23 - In the garage w. LED lights. Watered them. Trichomes still not the right colors.

10/25/23 - In the garage w. LED lights. Watered them. Don't think the trichomes are the right colors yet. Trimmed a lot of leaves off – any that were yellow or discolored.
