Having trouble Plz help!

So i cant seem to get my seeds to sprout. Ive tried 3 different kinds of unreliable bagweed seeds. Heres some pics of my set up.

My setup is this
12/12 light cycle
100w Daylight spectrum Bulb
Fans for ventelation
Aluminum(sp?) foil & Metal silver tape
PC case!

Now I got my bulb from Pets mart and its meant for reptiles. It says it gives off alot of UV rays and im not sure if this is good or not?

If you look at the second picture (sorry its kinda blurry) The brown stuff is my perculite. It seems my light it browning it. Now Its about 80* in there and im not sure if this is normal.

Point is I cant get my seeds to sprout so i want an expert opion. Do you think its my seeds, My light, Something i dont know?, or all of the above?

Please help!!!

Much appricated!

Dude how much did you pay for that light?

Incandescent lights do nothing for plants. Get a 42 watt cfl and you should be good to go. Also, it may take longer to sprout starting in soil.

If you're going to put the time in to grow, you might as well put time into something thats gonna be danky as fuck.

I think that box wins RUI's ghetto grow of the year! lol

You have holes drilled in the beer cups?

But all kidding aside, a little warmth (24/7) encourages germination. Otherwise your seeds may be too old.

Cool thanks for all the tips, So my bulb is shitty incand. I really wasnt sure of the difference, but ill go pick up a new bulb tommorrow. I only paid 8 dollars for the bulb lol.

when you start your seeds, i have found the best way to do it is by putting a couple paper towels on a dinner plate. then soak the paper towels with water, put the seeds on the soaked paper towels. then take another couple paper towels and put them on top of the seeds and soak those as well. wrap the dinner plate up in a plastic bag, and put it in a dark area for a day or 2. after about 12 hours you should have germinated seeds, and if not check again every 6 hours. when i germinated my seeds, i had 10 of 10 germinate in less than 24 hours, i only used 6 though. and they were just bagseed.

when you do get them germinated use tweezers to grab the shell and not the root, and put the seed root down into your soil. put some light on it and watch it grow. hopefully that will help you. good luck with your grow!
