Having trouble getting my seeds to sprout..

I've never had this problem. I've got them up in the attic. It gets hot up there but I've not had a problem before with them growing up there. It's either the temps, or the dirt I've dropped the seeds into. I'm using ocean forest potting soil. Is it too rich to start them out in? Do I need to start them in seedling starter soil? I've started them in the ocean forest soil before with no problems. I'm wondering if it's a combination of the heat and the soil. The temps get anywhere from 80 to 100 during the day up there. I planted them 5 days ago.

Ocean Forest is too hot to start them in alone. You can cut it with Light Warrior, or use only Light Warrior. Another way to germinate is by soaking a paper towel and putting the seed in it, then put it in a baggie and store in a warm area until the taproot emerges. Could do the same with a plain glass of water too. Just let the seeds sit in it until a root pops then transplant. If the seeds are old, add about a tbsp of kelp to a glass of water and let em sit in that. No kelp then try about two drops of bleach in the glass of water. It works.

I plant right into FFOF with no problems. If you're getting up to 100 up there that sounds like a weed killer to me.

^ Agreed. I read right over those high temps. I have however had problems with seedlings straight into Ocean Forest.
