I have had these 50W LED chips, and drivers kicking around for quite a while. Bought them to run at my ice shack and decided to buy real floods.
Anyway, I was thinking of mainlining my 2 plants, and thought "hmm maybe I should make the first cuts clones" (when you mainline you cut off 3 nodes... perfect cloner).
So, I don't have a clone box, and I started scavenging...
This light has about $30 in it. I didn't need to buy anything to make it, just $30 of junk kicking around my work bench...
2 CPU headsinks. Both the fans were dead on them(I may have plugged them into a high current circuit last time I used them and burned out the fans )
2 Case fans, blue LEDs in them
2 pieces of left over aluminum.
2 ziplock square containers (hahahahahah)
zip ties
Foil tape
old blackberry phone charger(for 12V to run the case fans)
old lamp plug
screw down wire connectors
electrical tape
About an hour of my time and this is what I made!
Doing a test run right now to see if it'll burn my house down
