Having some difficulty with Area 51 Customer service

Jeff makes good led lights but the fact of the matter is that the customer service sucks. i see people worshipping area 51 here and telling the injured party to have patience, why? Did jeff have patience when he was getting paid? no he didn't. He got paid instantly and he was too slow to give the " fix it yourself instructions" on top of it. So much for the limited life time warranty. I have been trying to preorder 2 of the new xgs for a week now. I still haven't gotten a response. Free world wide shipping offer is invalid when i try to enter my address overseas. Should i have more patience? Not this time, i am going for another option. I am going to give my money ( a whole a lot of it too) and this is what i am going to get. Hell no! Neeeeeext!
Ok.... I understand your frustrations. Trust me. Maybe not grow related but in the motorcycle stunt scene all the companies that make parts are all like Jeffs, individually owned and self operated companies that are not necessarily their full time job. It's always slower getting things done with mom and pop style businesses unless they are local. They don't have a huge customer support setup, nor the backing or money to support a staff to do such. No telling what's going on in his life, but he's pretty much a one man show. Could always go either California light works, or apache. Or go through growershouse to purchase those types of lamps or even a blackdog. I have always had good experiences with growershouse, and if you contact them directly sometimes they will even cut you a multi unit discount.

Right on man! I am deciding between solar storm and hans panel which is more likely. And good lookin out for the support, understanding n advise. Back in my time, smokers had nothin but love for each other. I see now thats changing. Never said a word about the quality either but the non-existing customer service. And got nothin but a bunch of haters talking gibberish for keepin it real. This kind of business practice goes against American values. We expect more here in the united states. Got a good product? Then you gotta back it up with some customer service dammit. Some customer service is mos def better than none and thats for sure. Corresponding is a good start. Jeff, you heard that? Plus if you run into any trouble w/ area 51, you better be handy with that tool set that you got inherited. Guess who is gonna fix it? Thats right, its you baby :) So i will take my money and give it to the fellas up in Germany and go from there. Thanks bros for the reps n kind words, should return the favor once i figure out how to.

Hans panels are good for small grows, but maybe not the best option if you need to go larger than say a 1.5m x 1.5m space. The solar storm is already pricey before any import fees. Have you considered Vipar? A lot of European growers are having good results with them.

Have you even taken the time to read what people have said? You seem to have so much knowledge about their warranty etc. yet you don't even own any of their lamps?? Let me get it straight, your big problem is that you can't have an email correspondence about your BIG ORDER prior to your purchase? Your email is most likely getting sent to his spam, but after seeing how you're handling this, I highly doubt he is going to be losing any sleep over losing your business.

Edit: I know it can be frustrating to not get a response, but you're really taking things personal. Do you think he is trying to avoid you or something? He has good light, with proven results.. get the lights or don't, but good luck with whatever.

Here's a quote straight from A51

"Bumper to Bumper warranty:
We will replace any part that fails due to manufacturing defects during the first 24 months, free of charge and we'll pay shipping.

In the event that the light needs to be sent to us for repair (highly unlikely, the lights are designed to be easily fixed and future upgraded by the customer), the customer pays shipping to us (they will be fixed in the USA), and we'll pay return shipping.

After 2 years we will still offer replacement or upgrade parts), but there is a fee for parts, it will be sold at wholesale pricing, which will be roughly $250 for the entire lamp upgrade, and shipping will be cheap because no heat sink or case needs to be shipped. That $250 is subject to change in the event that we ever use more expensive LEDs than the original, though that price will not increase much at all, if at all. "

If it's an easy fix, usually it's easier, quicker, cheaper for them to just send you the part. If it's something more serious then you just send them the light and they send it back fixed. Seriously why are you starting an account on here to just throw dirt on a respected small business (that you haven't even done any business with!) Get your panties out of a bunch bro and go get a POS CLW or something.

Already purchased before I saw your post man, thx anyways :). 4 of the 80s from bonsaihero. It cost me less than 2xgs with more footprint. And whit this, I just saved all the jeff craZed bottom dwellers from the headache. It's done :) best of luck to ya :)

4 Hans will surely get you some good buds! Best of luck. Hope to see you journaling!

Those hans panels are good for side lighting but not much else. They don't have hardly any penetration for canopy lighting they are like 80w panels....you're going to need a HPS.

I wanna see some big dense buds that hans panel only lighting made. you link me then I will believe.

Truth be told though, LED penetration may not match HID in most cases. With the Hans panels, I wouldn't try to grow any big trees. Shorter Indica doms will probably be the way to go.

Theres dozens of detailed grow journals linked from his site and in many different forums. Educate yourself before spouting sophistry. I don't need to do your research for you.

I just searched this forum for hans panel grows there is 1 person in the first 5 pages with little baby plants and already supplemented another LED because hes having doubts about the hans panel. 80w for a light is really weak bro my one LED is like 500w with 6w and 10w LEDs you need the bigger chips for the penetration which is obviously one of the biggest problems with LEDs. That and footprint. And if you cant grow a big plant with LEDs then either you use terribad LEDs or you suck at growing. My plants at AT LEAST 4 foot tall.
