Havesting today, should I leave the Fan Leaves on during drying?

Hey everyone, so my Af Kush plant is getting the chop today! My first harvest in 2 years! In the past I always trimmed the fan leaves off before drying and then manicured before curing, but I read online it can be good to leave the fan leaves on until the plant is dry to protect the buds as they dry. Any thoughts on this, anyone try both ways and notice a difference?

Thanks!

cut them before is so much less trouble.

as long as you have them drying properly you dont need to keep them on only makes it take longer to dry

Day 50 of flower for the Afghan Kush. My other plants in the background are still a few weeks away, because this is my only pure indica strain for this grow. Going to chop her later in the day so when I do that I'll take some more pics, but here are a few for now. Grown under a 250w HPS. It is also the smallest of my plants, but I think I got at least a dry oz on it (most likely more). Enjoy the pics, thanks for the feedback!

looks good man. although... my only recommendation would be for your next grow.. get that light as close to the top as you can. those buds will get massive.

and yeah.. take the fan leaves off before your dry.. i do a real half ass trim right when i harvest.. and then about three days later i trim more (smaller sugar leaves). when theyre done and ready to go into a paper bag (12 hours) right before i jar them, i manicure to make them look really nice.

Yea, I basically trimmed off everything that was green and did not sparkle lol. Unfortunately I could not get this plant as close to the light as I would have liked because 3 of my other plants outgrew her quickly. They are big, but still a few weeks from harvest.
