Have any of you ever had a harvest that smells like hay that smelled dank after cure?

Got some blue dream nugs, i'm sure the trichomes were super cloudy/full and it even looks frosty until now. They smell like hay but the stems are still moist so I have some hope in the curing process. I put them in a jar 2 days ago and i've been burping them every few hours but i'm going to start every 12 hours starting tomorrow. Have any of you had this situation and had it went back to smelling/tasting dank?

u need to remove them from the jars and place back in a dark area with 50% humidity

the stems are still wet u need to keep the air flowing and keep them in there like that the hay smell will go away due to the 50% humidity.............it is becuase the humidity was to low when u dried it that is where it came from ........the flowers let the water out and drawl more from the stem since the air was to low those got to dry and the water in the stems did not transfer out

keep your area between 40 and 60% 50 is the golden zone ..................to low it does that to high mold could attach and grow

if u leave them in the jars like that the green will go really dark and not look all that good

I've seen a lot of growers that put the nugs in jars after 4 days when the stems are still a little moist and start releasing the gas by opening the jar every so often. I've seen other wait a whole 7 days until it was completely dry then start the curing process. Both did fine i'm just paranoid about letting it get bone dry to the point of no return. The place I dried it in was a dark closet with 50 percent humidity and 60-68 degrees Fahrenheit.

With those conditions you just mentioned 4 days sounds like too soon.. I would either place them in paper bag for faster dry or get a window screen and dry them for another day or two

I made a pseudo-paperbag and taped/stapled two pieces of paper and poked holes on one side. Put the whole 32 gs in there. i'll take it out after 12 hours

Sweet 12 just might do the job.. I like where you were headed trying to get them in the jar for a slower cure. You just over thought it. Most people say to wait for a snap, place in a jar for couple days burping then puff away. I'm right in between and prefer only some branches to snap, then into jar and burp for bout a week. Different folks, but if it's for personal and you can wait? Do it slow..!

Cheers Wazoo..

Yes. I've had a few different strains now that turned out to be pretty damn awesome after curing, that didn't smell so nice after cutting down. Sometimes they reek immediately after the chop, sometimes not.
