Hash/RSO oil - comes out like black tar?!

Been trying, several times, to make decent hash oil. I've tried several times with a rice burner and just now tried another method using two pans and boiling water to evaporate the alcohol. Tried Rubbing Alcohol and also ever clear. Same results every time. It's not actually oil, it's more like burnt grease. The temps are not very high, only enough to evaporate the alcohol. I don't get it. I've watched video after video. I stain the everything several times before I start also...

Any advice?

I think for the alcohol you 90 %isotype regular rubbing alch will mess it up n not turn out good, or butine wich can get dangerous,

Me and a friend did something once which worked for us( tasted bad though)
We took all trimmings an any left overs ground them up really nice put them in a big ass glass plate/bowlpoored 90% on it , coverd it for the first night and put it next to a low temp room heater,
Every thing was like a slush the next day, we uncovered it and let it sit one more night by the heater to burn away the alch, every thing kinda solidified and the next we burned it up, and ill tell you what it was some good shit,

Mind you I don't know if this is a proper way for anything.or has a name, But this is what we did, and it turned out pretty good for two kids not knowing what there doing hah

Going for another round here in a bit. I added some coconut oil to this crap I have now and threw it on the candle warmer.. So far no effects from this at all. I ate a bit of it, tasted ok... The oil just looks burnt....again.

Edit: I lied. It's starting to hit me now. But still would like some advice what other think I am doing wrong.

well for starters don't heat it let it evaporate on its own with a fan blowing on it

Like grorite said I wouldn't boil it ether, thc burns up pretty easy I believe, if you leave it in a warm place and let it sit, untill it all vaped out it should do it,it will take a but longer, but i believe, it'll be nicer, get a plug in heater and put it by that, unless your not tryin to get a buzz and just want the medicinal stuff then just keep trying what your doing but mix it up

Post this in the concentrate section and you'll get more help. Butane makes way better concentrate IMO. If done properly it's safe (let me stress!!! If done right). I've made it hundreds of times and only had one incident way back in the day lol. In the last 25 years i've never had an issue. Last batch was (is) superb lol. Do not set your alcohol mix by electric heater WOW!!! I never had great experience making oil with alcohol (99% isopropyl btw). But there's great stuff out there by doing a wash. And actually boiling off the alcohol was standard practice in the good old days. Did you filter it through paper coffee filter before reducing it? My advice is to do a butane run outside, its amazing stuff!!

We didn't have it on the heater it was about a foot or two away haha, but still good point
Deffinitly bho is the best, but if you don't know what your doing, be carfull read up first

Its the vapour that explodes into a fury ball of fire. Your lucky you didnt become tar...Wow.....lol. Hot water bath is used if speeding things up. All of this outside. Never in house! I use a hot water bath. Then into oven at 115 after all visible signs of butane r gone. Then a few runs through vacuum chamber and warm water bath. Then its glass lol. Made butter last week and it turned out real nice as well. Makes great cookies lol.

Once again good point, I haven't done anything like that sence, but we did get a break which was nice, but probably not the smartest move, that was my first and only time on any type of oil, and it was with a friend,

I do do alot of compressed keif type of stuff,
I half ass it so that way after I get all my keif, I still got shake hahaha

It looks like it has a lot of plant material in it to me. I always do a simple quick ISO extraction and just let it naturally evaporate. Takes about a day. Then I scrape that (looks golden brown) and mix it with the coconut oil and decarb. And then a few more heating/freezing periods with lethicin added. Check out BadKitty's thread in the cooking forum for some good info.

Also the last time I made oil I did use a tiny amount of everclear to help dissolve the qwiso before adding it to the oil.
