Has anyone ever tried drying a nug in rice?

A friend of mine just informed me that if a cell phone is dropped in water, to save it, it can be placed in a bowl of rice for a day or two and the rice will extract all of the moisture. He then asked me if this same method could be used to dry a few nugs quickly. Have any of you tried this? or have any ideas of why it would/wouldn't work? :leaf:

i dont think it will dry the nug in a few days but i think a few rice grains in with the weed for the first week of cure is a good idea to help prevent mold happing

Neat idea. Should work in theory. The plant dries from the outside in, so if the outside of the bud gets too dry and the inside too moist that might not be helpful.

I'll try it with a nug next harvest for giggles.

I think I may just give this a shot as well..

Still got another 5 to 7 weeks before I'll have any buds to test. I got two feminized Nirvana 'ICE' plants going.. I'll have to try this method out with a little test nug.

Thanks for sharing.. I've never thought of this before.

Great replies, I was thinking it may dry the bud out too fast as well. Do you think that would cause a harsh smoke? I'm thinking I'll try some with the cure since I only grew two little plants this harvest, just two half oz nugs for personal :weed: thumbs up for not having to pay for weed lol
